        Hi everyone,
Been offered a good deal on a Shimano Antares BX 16m, – any opinions on what they are like?, whether they are any good?

Not the lightest pole but very stiff, even at 16m. Strength as with all shimano poles isnt an issue either.

Thanks Steve – So its hard work to hold at 16m for longer periods of time?

At what length is it comfortable enough to hold for 5 hrs? – as I just been looking at Pole Compare and it does have rather heavy stats in comparison to other similar priced 16m Poles

Also seen the speedmaster bx on a good deal – I’ll be using it for everything – what would be your preference Steve?

The Antares is a lot better than the speedmaster BX to be fair. I wouldnt say the Antares is hard work, id just say its heavier than other top end poles at 16m. Its also very stiff as i already said and the extra weight does help when fishing in a big wind.

Thanks Steve – The Antares is now on its way.
