        The Irish Teams were announced during the week to fish this years World Championships and Celtic Cup.

        For those of you who are not aware all of the 2010 Squad (bar one angler)including World Silver Medalist Cathal Hughes have walked away from the fold as has the manager Richard Caplice and the sponsor Maver UK.

        I sincerely doubt that the Irish Team will feature in any way in any event this year other than to prop up the other nations.

        The nationality of some anglers may cause difficulties with CIPS.

        It is very unfortunate for the new manager Mark Theedom and anglers like the calibre of Cathal Hughes.

        The Team selected to fish the World Championships on the Ostellato Canal (25 Aug to 6 Sept) in Italy is as follows;

        Dave Slater,
        Vincent Walsh,
        Nick Harrison,
        Finton Brennan,
        David Burleigh
        Tommy Dowd.

        The Team selected to fish the Celtic Cup on Magiscroft Fisheries (3 to 8 Aug) in Scotland is as follows;

        Michael O’ Connor,
        Nick Howell,
        Donal McGuirk,
        Danny Quinn,
        Ritchie Keegan,
        Mark Leonard
        Brian Bohan
        Paul McConville

          What an insult for those anglers selected to fish for Ireland!

          Who’s nationality exactly will cause a problem?

            I agree Dave, whoever is writing this rubbish needs to get over themselves, get a life and move on.

              Without prying too much Cathal, why did you and most of the existing team/manager/sponsors step down?
