        Is it just me or are the signal crays less evident this year on formerly infested waters?
        Could the Mitten crabs have eaten them all, or perhaps the EA have eradicated them using special sterilisation chemicals in our waters?
        Or could the big freeze have left them to slumber late into the year and they will be back with a vengeance?

          It was very noticeable last year that there appear to be less of the orrible little critters in the sections of the Thames around Oxford. The channel, stretch below medley, which was at one stage nearly unfishable was superb again. You could even fish chop worm and only catch a odd one.
          Mind you the chub and perch are very fat~think
          Lets hope when the glorious 16th arrives it is just as good

            Lot of people catching them commercially now (officially and unofficially). Some previously bad bits of the Cherwell were much clearer last year.

              ~clap ~naughty ~naughty Simon….Ronnie and Reggie?…….They wouldnt let anyone clear them away from any place.They were the guvnors,and always will be.However they might be keeping their heads down atm,although “Charlie”(their brother)has been about..lol.~shh ~shh ~shh
