Guru N Gauge

  Has anybody tried this guru line?
  
  I seem to be having issues settling on a line lately, powerline is too inaccurate, silk shock is too expensive for 100m, match team can be hard to get hold of, and my current line, power match is fantastic but you have to waste loads of line and time retying spade after spade for a hooklength without a kink in the line.
  
  I spoke to my local tackle dealer and he advised n gauge but he is sponsored by guru so I thought id see what other people who had used it thought of it.

  Try Shogun from buygoodtackle. Its very strong. Don’t worry about diameters so much. Fish to its strengths. It may or may not be the right diam, just go up or down a diam.

  I started using Guru N-Gauge line when it was released and thought it was great.
  
  I have used it ever since for my rigs and hooklengths and its the best I have used.
  I used it before I had anything to do with Guru, and would recommend anyone to try it.
  
  Its accurate in its diameter, strong and supple and knots very well.
  
  Also at Â£4.99 for 100m its very well priced too.
  
  look out for it in 0.11 to be released soon.

  If you are kinking the line tying spade end knots it is most likely your technique.
  Don’t tighten the line around the shank so hard and pull it tight gently and you should see an improvement.

  Ultima power match is the ONLY line I have used to kink. Its a single kink and I think its from taking the line back on itself around the peg on the tyer. This part of the line then goes through the knot and sits about an inch above the spade when pulled tight. Like I say no other line does this that I have used.

  I am a convert & have been using the 7lb(0.17) & 5lb(0.15) strengths. I find them both excellent for both rig & hooklength use. I have been using it in conjunction with Silstar Match Team (hooklengths) for pole rigs & with QM1 hooks for pellet waggler hooklengths. The line is excellent for the knotless knot & has great knot strength. I think it could be used as a reel line to great effect & I am going to try it on my fixed spool reels for pellet waggler work. Whether it will be robust enough for the feeder remains to be seen, but with so many good, cheap lines on the market (Sensor or Maxima for example) I doubt there is any need. I would appreciate any feedback.

  Use eyed hooks! I like Middy Low Viz by the way for pole and waggler, no good on the feeder though!

  Yeah the 0.11 will be great. What diameter do you use on the method with n gauge? .19 or .22?

  always used daiwa sensor ,was recomended guru but returned to sensor this year my opinion mate !!

  Lasso – 0.11 N-Gauge should be around later in the year mate and will make a great addition to the range.
  
  JonniTimms – 0.19 is what I generally use and have no problems at all with breakages, but do go upto 0.22 if bagging or catching bigger than average fish (i.e 7lb+).

  try the berkley xwr line i’ve been using it for the last year an can not fault it. it’s just a little hard to get hold of some times but a great line in all sizes.
