have always used 3lb and 4lb maxima but wondered if some of the lower diameter “modern” lines might be better , do you have any recommendations ?

Laudan5 I’ve just started using the Preston line I think it’s the power max!! It’s a blue line, and I use the 6ib and I really rate it. Strong supple and it isn’t abrasive.

3 or 4lb daiwa senser more suple than maxima and its cheap too.

I like 4lb Maxima or Daiwa Sensor for the pellet wag and the same in 6lb for the method/bomb

Slightly controversially (it’s Andy May’s fault….) I am now using the Ultimate Flo-cast (the hollow floating pink stuff.)

Saw him using it, he gave me a few spools to try and it’s awesome. Bearing in mind your float isn;t in the water for more than 20 seconds normally, it’s spot on.

                          sensor 4 & 6 at present-
                          but,

like the cut & thrust of your jib, Mr.Fordy!

may give Mr.May’s unfortunetly, coloured ‘pink’ Ultima powerflo a try.
Apart from hearsay ‘media folk’ alleged ‘E&D’ influences on your own stated preference-lol

casting every 20 secs. to fish p/w properly
It’s also bloody tiring and suppose you cant get away from this by being lazy like some of us if you choose said high profile floating line.
must improve p/w abillity and benefit cardio-muscular health as bonus.

This wont help but on one reel i have Daiwa Sensor 4lb and on the other the Preston Blue line in 4lb and the third Trilene Sensation clear 0.20 I like all the lines .I dont think about the the line on each reel they all perform well.If i replace a spool i use the Diawa because i have a bulh spool and its cheap.I do not like maxima as it streches to much a takes on water when in use(sPRAY ON YOUR FACE AND HANDS WHEN YOU REEL BACK IN).

Try the Lazer Match Line 0.19mm or 0.17mm for small fish!

This is one of the best lines you can buy for the wag and don’t let the cheap price put you off!!!!

NO as far as I know it is just standard Mono, to be honest it doesn’t arrive with a lot of info it just says on the box designed for waggler fishing!

Been using it for a year now and is as good as anything I have used before. The rig line is good too been using it for about the same amount of time!

                                            I’ve got the 6lb and the 4lb.

One of the best things about it is it casts brilliantly. Really smooth.

So does that Preston blue stuff by the way. Got that for normal waggler fishing/light feeder and lead work.
