fish down the side of the reeds with meat or pellet for crucians and the odd big carp and 13m on the deck and shallow.0.16 hooklengths recommended as the bigger carp head straight for the reeds.

your correct on most things but the last time i was on there 0.22 wasnt strong enough i ended fishing braid straight through to a 14 drennan feeder hook i went through 10 300g tins of meat 6mm for feed and a 10mm on the hook keep feeding 10 pieces all the time dumping big pots dont seem to work

Best lake in England IMO, you never know what you are going to catch next. Its not all big carp by any means.
I normally start on a top 3 and work out and up. I have never caught down the edge so guess this does not work on all pegs. I have seen plenty of 100lb plus weights of carp but in one match we fished it was won with 60lb of chub.
Plenty of crucians skimmers as well, its an aquarium. Enjoy yourself.
It is deep by the way so tie up some 15 foot rigs if you want to fish long on the deck.
Personally I would not bother as the fish do not want to be that deep unless its very cold.

“Best lake in England”….errr…no; not IMO anyway…a long way off Pool 1 at The Glebe, but it’s plenty good John, I agree.

I won a match in February off peg 5 in the “deeps” fishing a straight peacock wag with 8mm pellet at six foot…152 pound odd of carp…30 fish (5 pound stamp), so don’t discount the wag at any time on these deeper pegs…

Still the best for me Ian, I am a member of Roys club at Mallory. Lake one seems to be matched up a lot so I tend to fish 3 and 4 which are excellent. Bolingey too is very very good but its carp or nothing. I just think its the variety Tripp offers along with its location make it special for me.
Thanks for the floats BTW just arrived and look good.
