Spuds, I have the 2 wheeled version but I converted it to 4 wheels. My D36 sits on perfectly & I’ve never had a probem with it.

My dad bought the 4 wheeled version last week. I had a look at it and the only advantage I can see with it over my version is the fact when it dismantles, the way the handles come apart would mean it fits in my car much easier. It’s not worth the extra £50 in my opinion.

Just bought a 4 wheel myself, and I wouldn’t say it’s easy, but when I tried it out in the garden even the missus could push my gear about! Only downside I’ve found is it’s not good at sharp turns (gentle o.k.), but lift and point and away you go. Certainly avoids the back and arm strain you get with 2 wheelers.

Swivelling rear wheels would make a big difference if anyone from Preston’s looking in, but still a good product never the less. ~clap

My local tackle shop said they could get me 2 of the Preston wheels with the bracket to match the front wheels for £15. It’s then just a case of making them fit the leg with the foot on the frame.

Could look at the gt precision rive wheel kits, turns your box into a barrow….look good to me though are 150

You can get as many wheels as you like you still won’t get up that bloody hill in one go, lol.

Is there any sort of height adjustment on the 4 wheel – other than not pushing it all together fully. The picture I’ve seen with Tom P pushing it makes it look awkward as the handles are lower than the bottom of his arms

I have an old Penrose Platform/Trolley and use it with 3 wheels. One in the middle at the front as usual and two that I put in by the handles at the rear. Brilliantly stable and will take bends but on a 90 degree corner the back needs lifting off the ground.

Not suprising really, have you seen how tall Tommy is? LOL

The only adjustment would be where ever you decide to lock the bracket off with the hand wheel, but then you’re relying on it taking the weight and I would imagine it’ll probably slip. I would describe myself as average height (5′ 10″) and I don’t have any problem with the handle position. In my opinion, using a barrow has never been easier.

i saw a 2 wheel tip over because of uneven terrain allied to a narrow wheel base- is there anything you can EASILY do diy9i’m pretty crap) to make the wheel base wider?
Also how stable is the 4 wheeler from same perspective?
currently, use mainly fox barrow and occassionally 3 wheel power walker- but neither really suits- given heavy loads and distance to pegs -average around 10-25, mole hill avoidance, etc.?
this really bothers me as health issues do cause stamina problems and want find decent system given average kit load in summer.

Hi wightangler, the 4 wheel is a little bit wobbly with such a narrow wheel base, but if you take it steady it’s fine. I guess it depends on the terrain around the venues you fish. Fished at Gold Valley yesterday and pushed it one handed on the tarmac path!

Maybe Preston will come up with some stabilisers for rough ground!

kingfisher g/v is ideal for 4×4 as its all pathways, but it does help if you put the wheels near the handles on the outside of the frame so as they dont actually line up straight with the front ones, so as to spread the weight ????

I have tried to source a spare set of wheel for my Preston shuttle to make the conversion. But was told that Preston no longer supply them now when they brough out the new 4-wheel version. Do any of you know any tackle-shops having them, and also doing mailorder to Sweden?

If you are tall the 4 wheeler can be a bit awkward as the handles are quite low – at 6’3 I find myself wishing the handles were adjustable.

alcopup just find a metal fabricator to reshape your handles upwards a tad more, or make a set with a different angle ?????
