I use a mix of about 75% micros, 25% 4mm, and have zero problems. Can;t say I’ve watched them come out, but I catch plenty of fish I don;t use groundbait in mine, and use the guru feeders.

When I first started, I did have a few casts when pellets came back still in the feeder, I found slightly damper pellet hyelped this and not squeezing so hard.

I don’t rate them at all. I don’t think theres enough holes in the back. I’ve started using the kobra ones, far better. As has been said, mix a few 4mms in with the micros.

Personally prefer preston method feeder n micro pellets. Simply add aspoons full or two of horlicks(depending on depth) to micros when preparing…… fish 4,6 or 8mm+ banded/lasso’d

same as pedro, ive used the scoop type but ive started adding horlicks & using a method feeder with micro`s, with either 6mm or 8mm on the hook

Not tried a pellet feeder – why use one instead of a method feeder – what is the advantage?

Advantages…they are allowed at the venues I fish, when method feeder is banned….figure that one out. Think, also, in deep water tha bait stays in better and reaches the bottom. Also if you’re fishing right tight up to reeds or into snags, you can bury hooklength and hook into the feeder so it doesn’t snag. Also, it’s different to the method and different catches you more fish on a hard water.

All told I’d still choose the method most of the time if I had the chance, but as all bar one of my local venues bans it, I use the pellet feeder most of the time.
