TF_carpcruncherParticipantI have never used a TDX and was wondering what peoples views are between the TDX’s and TDR’s… are the TDX’s any better?

TF_Col_WI use TDRs and love em – I think the TDX has a nicer cushioned line clip and other than that can’t see what advantage they have over TDR’s. They do cost a lot more though.

TF_FBlues“.He found the drags very erratic on them.” Simply unbelievable! Did he pour vinegar and sand into the drag washers? Why not send them back if the drags failed? I’ve pulled 9lb on mine as smooth as silk. No match angler will ever pull 4lb on them. Try it and see what I mean.

Tubbs TubsonI had this “dilemma” a few months ago…Mrs Tubson decided that I could have 400 English for my birthday to spend on what I wanted, so instead of nipping down to the local Bulgarian brothel for a month, I decided to ask opinions on the TDR v TDX thing on another site…
Opinions varied from “not worth the extra” and “over-engineered…you’ll never need what they can give” to “the nuttz” and “awesome; buy some”..
I did buy 2 x TDX 2508’s primarily for my 10 foot feeder rods and waggler work…I can also confirm that they are indeed, the muttz nuttz with the drags being by far the smoothest, most accurate I’ve used by a long way. The winding power for such relatively small reels is also unbelievable.
My advice is go for what suits more than owt else, but once you’ve used one of these black buggers in anger, you’ll never want owt else…
My opinion of course.
