TF_mart16hi all,i managed to snap my conny z apq 11/13 last week.it snapped on the 2 foot extension piece.i’m looking at getting a new rod that will cast method feeders up to 90 yards if i want it to.
i’ve looked at a tournament 13’5″”,but have since been told there is better available.
browning king feeder rods, preston dutchmasters, hardy marksman 13ft have all been mentioned.
are these rods still usable at shorter distances or are they pure distance rods.
monies not really the deciding factor,i’m thinking buy once and get a proper rod for wherever i want to go.
so what do you reckon. -

coxp001ParticipantI’ve got the king feeders but have had a waggle with the hardy rod and this is a totally different class than anything I’ve seen before. But then so is the price !!
This rod would cover 90% of your feeder fishing needs including methods to the horizon -

TF_NathanWatsonThe Tournament will be way too stiff! Send your broken section back to Daiwa.

TF_squattJust sold all my Daiwa 11/13’s (7 in total). I’ve bought Shimano Aerocast (12 & 14ft) and Browning King Feeders (13 & 15ft). Sorted now ~clap

TF_redarmysquatt ive just got a couple of the king feeders at 14ft and just added a 13ft all seasons king feeder, have you used the 13ft and how do you rate it ive noticed the tips are different strength than the 14ft

TF_squattI really rate the Shimano & King Feeders. The 13ft KF has plenty of power and feel. All the tips blend with the rod and the eyes are a good diameter i.e allow shock leader knots. The KF are work horses that I’ve used for Bream on French rivers and they will get a real work out in Holland on the 2nd June. If I could only choose one Bream rod it would be the Aerocast, but if long chucking is needed with big feeders then it’s the KF especially if it’s windy.

TF_BoddeParticipantWhat about the 13ft hardy rod then? I read about in this issue of matchfishingmagazine and it sounded really good.

TF_mart16i bought the hardy 13ft extreme a fortnight ago.it looks a proper piece of kit.be out tomorrow at butterly to try it.
i’ll still look for a replacement conny z though for shorter work,or ideally a 2ft extension off one if someones broke a rod elsewhere. -

TF_One Out of the FrameJust get Scott (esselle) to ‘wrap’ the broken section then it is job done.
He did one of mine a long time ago and it made no difference to the rod (that I rarely used at 13′ tbh) Conny X I think?
Infact it probably improved it’s long range potential by making it stiffer.
