TF_andy cranes mateParticipantI’M looking to get a 12ft rod for bream. Everything seems to have power or carp in the title. What do you lot use or recommend? I want a nice soft action that not going to break light ish hooklengths.

TF_RunctonHave to agree with chavey. I have not used the 11 ft version but the 12 ft Garbolino Super G is a great rod.

TF_Dave PelletDrennan Matchpro 12′ 2 piece medium feeder rod
beautifulif you’re on a tighter budget you could do a hell of alot worse than look at the new version of the Series 7 12′ competition feeder
2 piece in a rod sleeve (as a lot of Drennan’s newer rods now seem to be) and for the money it’s a lovely medium feeder rodor if you can find one..
the previous Matchpro combo rods
either the 11’6″/13′ medium feeder combo
or the 11’/12’6″ stillwater feeder comboall really lovely rods – out of the 4 mentioned above I’ve owned 3 & still have 1

TF_baitchefParticipantI think most mentioned have a good action but it might be an idea to do a bit of research and go into a bit of detail and try to find something made with high quality carbon, best quality guides and good quality cork handle, then do a price comparison, especially if its for keepsakes.

TF_sensaskidni1964Sentinent too bloody forgiving ! take a week getting a decent fish out if youre catching well.
Drennan all the way for me, series 7 range cheap as chips and a cracking rod. Matchpro ect ect, they are all good at what you want them for !!

TF_ssg droppersTricast Trophy club man.The 11/13 footer is a lovely soft rod that comes with 2 different carrier sections. One with push in tips and one with put over soft carbon tips.Supplied with 5 tips for £140 ish.
The 12’6 version 2 piece is also a great rod and is a belter for the money £105 ish with 3 put over tips.So many out there and their all good, down to person choice.Good stong guides and a good real seat.

TF_allyParticipantLots of good rods about, but as someone who has over the years some how ended up with around 20 or so breamy type tip rods, I have only ever bought two of the same once and thats the aerocasts. If however you want to go the E-bay route there seem to be a few bargin tricasts around, 11ft 4 or if you get lucky a 4×4 11.5/13 ft, can only assume they are a, for sale and b, going so cheap because there not really up to the larger carp in many venues.
