Sat next to a lad yesterday who won the match using the tea bag. I haven’t tried this method although I have heard about it. Which PVA mesh is the best (and cheapest) to use and how do I set it up?

i use the gardner micromesh..set up is simple..just like you would a with a straight lead set up..but with a slightly heavier lead to off set the t-bag on the cast other wise it will go all over the shop..just hook the bag once then twist and hook again..job done.

I use GURU Speedmesh, it breaks down really quickly and probably the quickest out there. Set up wise, standard running rig system, and as squeeky says use a heavier bomb than normal as the bag can make it cartwheel through the air and with the heavier bomb you’ll find that it follows the lead rather than fighting with eachother in flight.

How does the points system work then, always wondered?

Thanks for your replies ,I hadn’t thought of using a heavier lead than normal, but thinking about it I see your point. I will give it a go sunday.

It`s more to do with what you put in the bag and how you hook it than what mesh you use. ~think

Good point Chris, I was thinking along the lines of 2m sinking micros or a mixture of sizes. The target fish at the venue (Willow lakes London Colney) are skimmers and bonus slabs and need a long chuck. I would hook it as suggested above by hooking then twisting and hooking again or should you tie the bag off with the hook and bait inside the bag?

depth also has alot to do with break down of the bag…if you’re fishing a deep venue then me personally wouldn’t go for a quick break down bag…especialy this time of year…warmer the water the quicker the bag breaks down..~think
