I bought a bulk spool of fox submerge plus in a 15lb breaking strain, got it for other purposes but have only used it for bream, it was going cheap as I think its now discontinued, but at last a braid that actually sinks. The dia is only that of six or 8 lb line I would guess, but I I am wondering if because its that bit thicker than the thinner 4 to 6lb braid that I used to use the manufacturers are able to build a bit more weight into it. I can certainly reach the distances you are on about with ease and dont now feel the need for a shockleader, just maybe a fingerstall for the heavy feeder longer chucks. Any way I would have a look at some of the carp braids that are sold as quick sinking and go a bit thicker than you may have done in the past.
