TF_simon paveyI tried the new Drennan ones yesterday, dead simple and easy to open.

TF_craigoreplace the bead section with a piece of silicone tube – a lot neater also
the drennan ones are good – try the quick change method adaptors too, top bit of kit

I have been preaching this for ages, glad someone else realises how easy it is to adapt them. I do object to paying for a bead I do not use though. Korum should sell some without beads IMO.

TF_RhinoSmall ones r better, the new drennan seem tops though not used them. The drennan method feeders and connectors r the dogs.

TF_baitchefParticipantI thought the whole point of them was that they were secure?

TF_Chris-turnerParticipantAll you have to do is trim the strip of plastic on the hook end , makes it a doddle to open thn . Trust me I had the same problem ..

TF_Col_WThe new Drennan connector beads (bead end) are made of a softer plastic than the Korum ones and easier to open but still a bit of a struggle with cold wet hands. Also the eye on the stonfo type peg to thread the line through is a bit too small on the mini version IMO.
The method feeder connectors I have found to be a real struggle to open but very neat looking when attached. -

No mate. They take no strain so do not need to be very tight, all the pressure is on the hook part of the stonfo bit. That is why the silicon works so well.

TF_scarfI’ve been following Waveney’s advice and using silicone instead of the bead. It works well, but the new Drennan quick change connectors are better and the Drennan method connectors better still, and more versatile.

TF_Waveney OneI will have to give them a look scarf. The method feeder ones are what interest me particularly.

As Chris says, above. Just use a craft knife blade.
