TF_SwimfeederRegardless how good Andy May undoubtably is, and the others that have made it through (congratulations to them all by the way) history has shown the draw usually decides who wins the final…….so in my humble opinion, it is sheer folly to predict the winner BEFORE the draw, I know plenty will still think they know best……… but I guess that is why you never see a bookie on a push bike. 😉

AnonymousKIERON RICH or JON ARTHUR for me this year

TF_FBluesGood call Swimfeeder: the match is pegged exactly as last year’s Final. What peg will win? After all, if it’s down to the draw, ie the peg, it’s a foregone conclusion…
-
20/06/2011 at 3:17 pm #143955
TF_JohnHClass field anyone could win it, look at last year, who called the winner with the last hour still to go?
-

The point I have made is simple enough, pick your winner AFTER the draw and ON the day after weighing up the conditions, particulary the wind direction, all the rest is smoke and mirrors and pure conjecture, to say Andy May will win it is nothing more than wishful thinking with near zero logic used, if he draws a peg with no chance of winning on the day, that is exactly what will happen, it ain’t hard to understand.

TF_NW Cut AnglerMany superb anglers and the winner will more than likely be the one that draws the best peg. If Andy, Jon or Keiron or whoever draws badly no matter how good they are, whatever local knowledge they are they cannot win brcause a superb angler will draw on fish.

20/06/2011 at 8:23 pm #143982
TF_craigmChris Kendall is where my money is going, he can draw as well as anyone and if there are fish in front of him he will catch them all.

TF_shep2if andy remembers everything i showed him on our day with him he cant go wrong 😮 on a serious note good luck to all the finalists especially andy 🙂

TF_gazmalmanIf someone offered me 5-1 on andy may winning id take it. If anyone wants to have a bet with me on him not winning at evens id definately take it, and so would any bookie in the land.
I’d love to see chris win it, even better if he won it fishing mussels!

admin-old-craigCan’t find any Fish O Mania betting yet – the only fishing betting I can find is on Betfair for the British Carp Champs 2011 – http://sports.betfair.com/

TF_sylvainpierreFingers crossed for Simon Christian, just a top bloke and quality all round angler! If he did manage to win it couldn’t go to a better bloke.

24/06/2011 at 7:04 am #144233
TF_CutnutThey are all tidy anglers and drawing well will be half their battle, the rest of the match will be the battle of confidence that either gets a boost or a knock at each weigh in. (if any one of the less photogenic ones starts to lead then the programme should get an immediate R rating as the cameras close in! 😮 )
I would like to see one of the newbies walk away with the trophy this year and go part way to proving that the gods are only demi-gods 😀

TF_wildingukWould love to see a newbie win myself too, and having watched Tim Nash the hotrods captain stuff scotthorne on the next peg in last years winter league final I wouldn’t bet against him.
They are all quality anglers, but when I saw Jon Arthur had qualified my immediate reaction was he’ll win it…so reckon it’s his year myself.

TF_drawbag1967Tony Curd for me.

24/06/2011 at 6:22 pm #144243
TF_toby bNot only the draw but a case of holding your nerve infront of the cameras and the crowd which I guess the more high profile anglers like Andy,John & Keiron are more used too.
As an average angler that will prob never be in a position like that I know I would be cacking myself and probably fishing like a muppet.
I wish them all luck and just hope its as exciting as last year. -

TF_jwbI now fancy nathon watson (obviously not literally  )
He’s been there and done it so often and is so single minded. (if he stays off of the pop the night before obviously 😀 -

so what happened on his last final appearance then ?????
no doubt andy is a class act who knows the place like the back of his hand, but if the fishy’s aint there, he aint gunna catch em !!!!
these threads are a good debate, but in truth, reguardless of freindly support or angler ability,,its a level playing field until the draw !!!
deffo stickin a few quid on the hatman as a show of support but if they peg it how i think its gunna be pegged, ill stick an ayrton on who ever draws next to the aerator !!!
hopefully the hatman !!!!! 😉 🙂 -
26/06/2011 at 11:37 am #144356
TF_FBluesThere will be three anglers between the nearest peg on the match and the aerator, in either direction, as the Ladies final is along that arc.

TF_dave smiffI hope nathan wins it, just to p*ss Keith off. Who cares if he wants 15 pints the night before.

26/06/2011 at 2:12 pm #144364
TF_Leaky Lloydthink nathans already planning the friday night session !!!
asked us if i want in but im a light weight   😀 !!!!
a good few of the sheffield/rotherham lads are going down aswell and are talking about camping there over night like the intersite match at hayfield !!!
possible pitching sites include the island on arena !!!!
im beginning to worry about ian lee,, 1st he chooses to pitch his tent at hayfield next to a field of goats,, and now he wants to pitch up on an island inhabited by one !!! 😮 😮
if the intersite camping sessions anything to go by, it could get a bit Lionel !!!! 😀 😀 😀 -
26/06/2011 at 2:42 pm #144360
TF_swingtipbryKeith is that the whole lake peged out with the girls starting at the same time that sounds spot on
-
26/06/2011 at 6:53 pm #144388
TF_shogun969I fished Arena yesterday and the goat is not there, looks like a strimmer will be needed before the final so th e cameras can pick out the contestants. 🙂

TF_allyParticipantWhat a field !!!! kind of begs the question, has the romance gone, what hope has the average angler of A, qualifying and B, winning the final?
-
27/06/2011 at 10:52 pm #144480
Anonymousthey are all good anglers that can catch plenty of fish, it’s the drawbag and weather conditions on the day that will give some pegs a big advantage over others, some of the pegs will have more favourable conditions for SURE, if you can’t present your bait the way they want it on that particular day then it doesn’t really matter what your name is you won’t be winning the fisho, it’s really that simple

TF_MICK THE BOOKIEReally looking forward to this years Fisho final.Obviously there are the “usual faces”(all great anglers),but i get the impression there will be more of an knife edge atmosphere this time round.
When the field is complete the Betting will start in earnest, and as soon as that happens i will post the opening prices on the site.
Good luck at the draw to all the anglers.I would love to be there with a pint in my hand and watch the shaningans……..Maybe just maybe i will be. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 -

Nathan…..I am Surrey based and visit all the Major firms on a daily basis as i have to but on large investments for big players.None of them will open a book untill the field is known.I will advise you all if and when the book is open and the prices are on offer.
If you want to back yourself with me now…I will give you odds of 5/1 for however much you like….But you just hang on there fella…Youll get better than that when the Big firms start laying.
IMO the best place to bet these days is on BETFAIR(www,betfair.com).You will always get the best odds available with them, and you can hedge your bets at anytime if you want. For example you could back yourself at say 10/1 for £50 and sell out anytime before or during the match to get a bet for nothing or a profit either way.
E.G….£50 @10/1=£550 RETURN.
SELL OUT AT £50 @ 5/1=£300 RETURN…..RESULT YOU WIN £250 FOR NO LIABILITY……GOOD BUISINESS….NO LOSS..YOU CAN ONLY WIN. 😉 😉 😉 😉 -
