Pro X clicking joint

  Got a pro x and have noticed a slight click on the strike on the 7/8 joint. Has anyone had similar problem? Was gonna try some candle wax to see if that helps. Pole is prob 10 months old so still in warranty, should I take it back or will correct itself in time. For the record the pole hasn’t had excessive use (used once every other week) and the joints look immaculate. Although doesnt affect the pole is really annoying and shouldnt happen on a £2000+ piece of equipment.

  Take it back to the dealer, it shouldn’t do it for two grand you are entitled to expect a top drawer product

  Check inside of each section by flexing the section and you will probably find a very small part that kind of delaminates etc. (might only be 5to 10mm but you will see the flex on inside of the tube.and it will look like its come away. 😉
  
  Send back to the manufacturer if its within guarantee.
  
  Send it to Scott at esselle if your out of guarantee and he will repair it.
  
  Its happened twice to me and it can be sorted easily enough and its as good as new! It will still be just as good as main pole or as a spare section as back up 🙂

  Toby, I had exactly to same problem with my Airity. I had a hairline crack in my number 8 section so I replaced it with a new one. As soon as I used the new 8 section I had the clicking issue you refer too. I cleaned/polished every section and it made no difference whatsoever. I took it straight back to the shop I bought it from and they sent me a new section the following day.

  cheers lads have spoken to the dealer today he is gonna speak to the daiwa rep but will check again for damage and try candle wax in the mean time.

  Does he have the section to show the rep? And don’t forget the rep’s call will only be every 6-8 weeks or so. Sounds like he might be stalling. The dealer sold the pole and should make the decision and have enough experience to check the section himself. Your option is to send it back to Daiwa at your cost. If it is found faulty they will deal with it, if not, they will return it. I would honestly say you will find, as has been said, a tiny delamination or split in the inside of the male (lower) section, usually caused by either pressure or whacking it with the female. However it can be a fault.
  
  Possibly your best bet is to ring Daiwa Service department and ask their advice.

  I was talked into using paraffin wax on the joints of my Spectron, This I did, but within a couple of weeks I was getting a clicking noise when I shipped in & out – from the No7/No8 joint. I checked inside & there was a build-up of crud; presumably pushed in by the No8.
  
  Once I’d cleaned it out (& got rid of the paraffin wax) the clicking stopped – immediately.
  
  I now use the Trevor Jeans PTFE nosecones & so far, so good – no clicking or crud build-ups.

  Have spoken to the shop today and the rep has been contacted and is now in there hands. The pole is being collected by daiwa on monday for inspection so all in all pretty good service.
