With the increasing costs of our fishing just wondered how many times people freeze leftover bait in particular meat, corn and groundbait. I am usually happy to freeze once but then throwaway any not used after that.

I freeze Ground Bait, but I never bother with the rest. Don’t you find that corn floats when you freeze it?

I freeze cubed meat more than once and I make up batches of expanders with gelatine and freeze these in smaller amounts and just take out what I want when I need them.

Don’t bother with corn, at 32p a tin it’s not so bad wasting it! Anything else I’m happy to freeze a few times, until it get’s used infact!

i find corn goes mushy and useless when frozen, if you wanna freeze it liquidise it first for a different type of feed.

I’ve forzen pellets fine, groundbait too, odd bit of caster if using caster shallow.

I find frozen meat is great, it goes softer and I tend to find I catch more fish on frozen and thawed than I do on fresh!!

Hemp I always refreeze, and no problems with freezing paste either!!

I’ll happily keep refrezing hemp and meat, not tried with the others.

Meat and hemp I’ll freeze until it’s used up or it’s not an amount worth keeping. Groundbait tend to go sour / smelly quite quickly, so probably only once for that.
