      TF_MICK THE BOOKIE

        16 FISHED THE SNAKE LAKE.

        1st…Tony Yanni…..Peg 12…..62lb 08oz.
        2nd..John Radford…Peg 11…..54lb 12oz.
        3rd…Tony Kent…….Peg 13…..40lb 02oz.
        4th…Gedge Cooper.Peg 15…..32lb 12oz.

        Section A…..Adam Lee…..Peg 3….28lb 08oz.
        Section B…..M.T.Bookie…Peg 14…24lb 08oz.

First time i have fished this lake, and i have to say your float does go under. As you can see the first 3 places were from the left hand side of the lake. The 3 lads caught steadily throughout the day,and had bonus Carp to 7lb.The Carp were normally to 2lb and the silvers(Roach Skimmers and Tench)about 8oz.The venue is a bit peggy to say the least and the outside pegs deffo fished better today. However apparently the Horseshoe pegs are normally better.I think today there were to many pegs on the Horseshoe part and there was more shade on the outer pegs.
No pellet allowed,so the anglers caught on Corn,Luncheon meat and Maggot.
I myself caught on Maggot(dead) down the middle early at 9 mtrs, and was getting Skimmers to 6 oz on every put in.When this line died i went across to shade under a tree and had small Carp to 2lb.
We all agreed to give it another crack, and so next week we aim to have another match, but this time Peg it where the lads have more room on the Horseshoe.
If anyone would like to join us…please give me a call. 🙂 🙂

AdzT…Dont know anything about Guinea lake mate. But i think you will love Snake Lake.We paid £115 for the whole lake which has 30 pegs on it,and there was 16 of us fishing..As it was our first time there we decided to peg it with 10 on the Inner Horseshoe part and 6 on the outside, and tried to leave the fliers(which we were told)out to make it a fairer match.
On reflection i and the other lads thought that to be the wrong move as the 10 pegs were to close in parts and the lads on them were at a disadvantage. When we fish it agan, which we are trying to do asap,as we really enjoyed it,we will peg it differently.Perhaps every other peg or missing out 2 pegs when it gets to tight.
There are plenty of fish in the lake, and as i have stated earlier the “float does go under”.To win the match,i think you deffo have to have the bigger bonus Carp(up to 7lb)in your peg,and you have to get the buggers out, because like all Carp they know where the snags are.You have to fish fairly light with a lightish elastic, and that makes it great fun when you hit the bigger fish.
The owner does come round a few times to make sure your not breaking the fishery rules(no pellet allowed in your bags) which is a good thing. He is also a stickler for non-barbed hooks, and if anyone is caught using barbed, you will all get kicked off and never allowed to fish it again. He checked mine 3 times…twice when i was paying for the lake.So please make sure your crowd know the rules.
I am sure you will have the craic as much as our lads, and i think your match will be won with about 60lb.I paid first 4,and 2 section winners.

Yes Malc i did get my invite….But i and our lads thought anything over 12 pegs on Pittance would f*** up the day for our Willinghurst chums,so we just might by-pass it for another day.I hope you lot have a great day….Sees you soon pal,and let me know when you want to join our little set of mugs….lol. 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
