Accessing Total-Fishing via iPhone

  Evening All,
  
  Since the site upgrade, I have difficulty accessing this forum via my iPhone. It loads the home page ok, but whenever I click a link to a topic the page refreshes to show an error message (error 404 if I remember correctly).
  
  I also have to sign in every time now (even having ticked the ‘remember me’ option thingy) whereas the old forum used to remember my log in details. I know it only takes 5 seconds, but it’s a ball ache.
  
  Any suggestions on how I resolve both of the above?
  
  FYI, I’m using an iPhone 4, with the latest OS.

  Snap James. The site is a joke since it changed. It’s not suprising that alot of people don’t come on here anymore.

  I don’t have problems loading the threads using my iPhone or iPad but do keep having to log in.

  I’ve got Paul looking at the smart phone thing and will let you know.
  I can assure you we have not made the change to annoy people but to improve the site in the long run. It was impossible for me to develop the old site and I hope you will be be prepared to bear with us while we work through the problems. I’m sure you can see that a lot is going into the site so to call it a ‘joke’ is not exactly inspirational. I’m also looking at an app although remarks like that do put me off investing more money in what is a free to use service.

  You will have had to log in again, I had to log everyone off.
  
  Can you give it another test let me know if you get logged out again.

  Geepster, by no means did I mean this topic in a negative way. It was intended as constructive criticism, and I assumed it was only my phone that had these teething problems. Although I don’t post often, I browse this site 3 or 4 times a day, it’s the main thing I use my phone for, so please dont take what I wrote as ‘slating’ the site.
  
  An iPhone app would be good…assuming it’s more forum friendly than using Safari etc, i.e. I’m writing this reply on my phone, and the scrolling dialogue box which I’m typing in keeps making my last 2 lines of whatever I write disappear. I appreciate it’s a minor issue, but its minor issues like this that make posting difficult.

  I am still working on the login issues, there is a bit of trial and error involved which is why its taken so long.
  
  Again i’ve adjusted some settings, i’ve loosened some of the security features, see how that goes.

  Can anyone having problems on phones please let me know exactly what the issues are i.e what you did to get there, what affect it had.
  
  On iPhones (and iPad) it may well help to clear the cache, via Home > Settings > Safari > Empty Cache
  
  Safari has a pretty aggressive cache and it may well be remembering things from the old site.

  Just managed to log on my android phone for the first time since the change, had no such problem[url][/url] with my I-mac at home though.

  I’m still getting this 404 message when I try and open a thread from the home page
  I need to go into the specific forum for it to work
  When I try and post it comes up with the log on screen even though I am already logged in

  Okay James understood. It’s getting the forum side of things right that’s the big challenge if we go down the app route.

  Is anyone having problems staying logged in still?
  
  It is something i’m still working on but it should be a lot better than it was.
