NISA BAG UP METHOD FEEDERS

  A nyone tried these? if you havent seen them its a flat feeder with an elastic strap that holds a mesh pva bag of what ever bait you fancy using as long as its pva friendly.
  Whats so good about that i hear you ask well, firstly it allows your baited method feeder to hit the deck without spilling the groundbait or pellets either on impact or as the feeder desends.
  This is great especialy in deeper pegs it also allows you to feed all sorts of baits and sizes of pellets or groundbait.
  I have to say i have not tried the nisa version but adapted a drennan method feeder to do the same job easily done took about 3 minutes to do , still a job in progress but it did catch me fish first time out.
  T ook it to a local carp lake set up and put a small bag of 4mm pellets on the feeder cast out put rod in rest and proceeded to make another bag looked round and rod was flying round a f1 about 12oz was the culprit.
  You need a bait box with some dry groundbait in it to dry the feeder each time you put a bag on , and its probably wise to have the bags ready made up.
  Need to tweak the tension on the elastic as mine was a little tight but it holds the bag on well, also the tension of the elastic on the bag means you dont need to make the bags that tight.
  Tried it in a bowl at home and the pellets burst from the bag and scatter a couple of inches round and on top of the feeder, they dont all stay put on the feeder like a normal method feeder is surposed to but do they anyway?
  So to sum up its a great idea and the permutations are endless for how you go about using it , negative is pva aint cheap and you could use a lot but in certain situations its got to be a winner.
  Give it a go and report back i know i will be!

  “pva aint cheap”. Maybe not but you can use a LOT less bait and apply it far more accurately than by any other method of loose feed.

  Nicky gave me some to try and they work well especially if you want to feed anything other than micro’s and or groundbait. You can put bigger pellets in, corn, crushed boilies or whatever and it will all definitely get to the bottom along with your baited hook. A piece of advice that Nicky gave me was when using a quickstop to put the stop through the mesh before putting the bait on. Stick the hook in as well but not through the knot.

  Realy thought this post would be of interest but seems not , ah well i reckon it will catch on eventualy when people realise the potencial. :confused:

  If you can get hold of last weeks Anglers Mail there is an article with Nicky using the feeders at Suffolk Water Park. He told me that he had been catching skimmers on a normal method with mini pellets on the feeder but when he changed to the ‘Bag Up’ ones putting larger pellets in the pva bag he started to catch carp.

  I seem to remember Will Raison mentioning this last year on Tight Lines, he modified normal method feeders with a black hydro strap to hold the pva bag. Always knew that lad would go far…………… :rolleyes:

  Well i can confirm its easy to modify a normal method feeder and it works well maybe it will be a method that finds more favour in the cooler months, who knows but i am totaly sold on the idea time will tell.

  Didnt know this was nothing new re will raison , well most people must think it aint that good or else there not letting on. :rolleyes:
