shimano speedmaster commercial 9-11 or 11ft6 both have 3 spliced in tops, the new beastmaster bx’s have 2

the speedmasters are gorgeous rods, about £150ish. i use an ax beastmaster and love it.

As above. Shimano Beastmaster, Speedmaster or Aerocast.

I would go for the Beastmaster BX Commercial 9/11ft feeder as it is stronger then the Speedmaster Commercial 9/11 feeder, the Speedmaster has a backbone where the carbon is joined and the Beastmaster has not got one I think it is in a spirell.

I have the AX version and think its the dogs dodahs. You are able to buy butt sections seperately which I did and now have both set up in the ready rod sleeve with the 11′ version set up for the method and the 9′ with a bomb usually but of course you can have then set up to meet what ever is required on the day. Star buy IMHO

Al can you still get the butt sections do you know? And how much where they? Guessing a special order from shimano through a tackle shop?

The trouble with the 11ft and 9ft already set up is when you want to try different combinations you have to take them to pieces to start again

Think you need a barbel or carp rod! 😮

You’re right Nathan – but I don’t want to be sitting behind bite alarms – I’m after something with a spliced tip. Greys do one but I’m not sure of the model.

I’m thinking this might be just the ticket – has anyone seen one or used one?

This could be the answer GUS
