looking to change my line (pole rigs) for making rigs/hook lengths, looking to give the above ago but all the info says good reel line. Any one using this for pole rigs or do you use the normal G Line. Is it okay in the smaller sizes .08-.12

        Regards

        Nick

I’ve been using super g line for 4 years bud, never had reason to change as it seems quite knot friendly, very consistent across different batches and the 150m spool at the price makes it not too expensive 🙂

I have used G line for about 8 years now for light rigs and fine hook lengths 0.06 to 0.1. Never any problem.

              Maver genesis for all above.

I find it gets damaged and then breaks very easily, not keen on colour either!

I agree with nathan I’m not a fan of it either! or maver genisis.
However a couple of alternatives Ultima power match, preston powerline (despite my critism thats it’s like cheeses wire), it is robust, even though it’s daimeter is understated 0.15 is a tad thicker than stated however once you accept it for what it is, it aint bad, silstar, shimano silkshock are tried and tested. The main bit of advice I will give is settle on a good brand and stick to it that way you can work out which each strain of line is capable of doing then you can go up and down the B/S range knowing what each is capable of achieving. Swapping around and between brands just confuses the issue as some are accurately stated and will brake easier than others that are understated in diameter, these lines will appear stronger which they are because the line is actually thicker than stated, so compare like for like and scrutinize carefully before selecting the brand you’l settle on.

gama super G is probably most supple line for dia., imo.
try this in a tank to compare and you’ll see for yourself.

Nearest to this for me- but cheaper is the garbo line – but i still use the ultima power silk in winter or when coulours droping out- because of the flourocarbon coating.
Having said that reckon the Gama super G is best general line because of its suppleness – but pricey though main drawback.

Only use the PI powerline now for margins/snags where strength and robustness ris main quality needed – horribly wiry for much else in the 0.15 – 0.17 summer carping dia.s imo.

Never used the maver genesis or recent drennan supplex so can’t comment
