TF_FEEDERMAN_222Has anyone got both of these or used both of these?
Is there much difference between the 2, which one is best?
Cheers.

AnonymousI have a tourny pro and I couldn’t love it any more than I do, it’s a fantastic pole and one of the best poles ever made. I’ve read a lot about the difference between the two and it seems the tourny is more of a commercial carp pole whereas the airity is designed more silvers. I don’t know how true that is as I haven’t used an airity before but I can’t imagine the strength is any less on the airity…

TF_enduraTourney is an awesome pole.
Held the two at a Daiwa trade show and couldn’t see the difference, but from
experience i wouldn’t swap my Tourney. If i was changing the only other pole
i would seriously have a look at would be the Tri Cast Trilogy, couple of mates
have them and rave about them. -

TF_craigmI had the new Tourney pro X and new Airity up side by side in the shop and the pro X was stiffer and handled better. We then swapped the no6 sections over and the Airity was the stiffer and better balanced ??? I think they are near enough the same pole and the difference in price is to justify the difference in spares supplied.

TF_budnuddParticipantThe tourny is an awesome pole, does the lot!! However I have used an Airity at 16m straight after finishing a 5hr match when I was holding my tourny at the same length all day and the difference was noticeable. The Airty was far better balanced and as a result felt lighter.
The tourny has one well known issue.. It’s finish which ain’t great. If I had the cash then I’d take an Airty tomorrow and keep my tourny for spares. 😉

TF_lloydy1970When i bought my current pole i looked at all the top end poles and wasn’t impressed with the airity at all but Daiwa poles are superb so may have picked a bad one up.

TF_AmerParticipantAre we comparing the new TPX with the DAP (Airity) or the previous Airity and the TP? If the comparison is with the two new poles then the finish is the same. They are as good as each other up to 14m then the difference is noticeable, the Airity is stiffer and better balanced but nothing major both great poles and I own a TPX and have used both poles. But saying that am looking to sell my TPX as even though will take a hit I need a pole for fishing up to 17m and even though the TPX is a great pole the Airity is a more capable pole at 17m.

TF_Staff BullI’ve had Tourney Pro, Tourney Pro x and currently have an Airity. Imo I think there is not much difference in em at 14m, but once you go 16m and over I think the Airity is the better pole of the 3. Its more responsive at longer lengths than both Pros, and just feels nicer to use. This is of course just my opinion and like everythin its all down to personal choice, but I never thought I’d find a pole better than the Tourney Pro but I did, the Airity.

TF_AnthonywatersParticipantI will answer this question honestly I bought an Airity in june 2008 previous to this pole i had the Conniosseur and a Gis 9. The Airity is something else but my predecessor poles were good poles too i liked both of them. With my Airity ive found the long 4s bend and my 6 & 7 section went through a stage where they were inseperable ! but what a pole its poker stiff and you hit bites with this piece of kit. Re Tournament V Airity i would say if you can afford a Tournament you can afford an Airity, so get the Airity, companies establish top of the market products for a reason.

Don’t use BB or CTK 5 or 10 -

Whats your problem fella?? I had them both up in Fosters last month when I was working down there. They have a good range of flagship poles on the racks, I tried :- Airity, Pro x, Gmax 1000, Gis14 and Aspire ultra.
You want to try it one day fella instead of buying on other peoples thoughts, its amazing what you can find out if you try them for yourself and make your own decisions. -

TF_GALPSSimilar to Anthonywaters really.
I had a Daiwa Matchwinner then a Conny G8 and then 2 years ago i invested in an Airity.
Both previous poles were good poles, particularly the Conny G8, up to 13mtrs.
The Airity at 14mtrs plus however is in a totally different league!
A friend of mine had a Tourney Pro and now has the Airity which he rates as better than the Pro and catches carp to low doubles with ease on it.

TF_ivorbigunmy problem is people who are full of shit, you been one of them.you recommended the z9 to everyone not just me,the pole was very good, that’s not the issue.you go on all the forums under different names and tell lies, you forget what you put and contradict yourself.you told anyone that would listen that the z9 was the best pole on the Market, then u sell it cos u need money for home improvements and because your hours were cut at work.on another forum you say you have been working lots of overtime inorder to afford new purchase.,as advertised on maggotdrowners under the name hellsbells.you then break it whilst fishing, the guy on the next peg sees this and offers you 1350 for it?you then get an old airity while your gmax arrives.i got the new airity with no help from anyone and if you wasn’t doing your house up maybe you could afford one.

TF_craigmI moved house and I was skint due to moving from a static caravan into a 3 bedroom semi, we needed everything from carpets to wardrobes – the only thing we took were our TV’s and personal belongings. I broke the no4 on the Z9 and a bloke offered me a good price for it so sold it and bought a bed and bedside cabinets plus a Map parabolix sti mk1 for £450 which I sold for £675 1 week later. I then sold loads of other gear and bought the Airity for £1250 which I sold 2 weeks later for £1450 which I was going to put towards a Gmax1000 but we have just lost a big contract at work so was put on 6 weeks notice ( i have since been offered another job within the company when this contract ends so all is well ) With the £1450 I bought a sensas 774 for £850 but it arrived with a damaged 13m section so I got a partial refund of £250 had it repaired for £50 and then sold it for £820. So then I had £1600 ish in my jar so I bought a Frenzee P2 for £1000 and have just picked up a Daiwa Spectron M2 for £500 and I will probably sell both of these for a slight profit and before we know it I will have enough for a Gmax 1000. All this within 2 months or so, I don’t know how I do it and work full time.
There you go, anything else you want to know just ask. -

TF_Spuds1Anyhow , back on track couple of questions please ?
1.What makes the Aiity better at longer lengths , are the middle sections stronger /stiffer ?
2.What length do you all have your top kits at ? 230CM for the match top 3 with number one removed is what I have but do you have them longer on the big bore /power kits or the same length ?

TF_freddy the frog1.What makes the Aiity better at longer lengths , are the middle sections stronger /stiffer ?
they are made on the same mandrell, but are of different carbons hence the different actions, strength wise i would say they are similar.

TF_craigmI’m no longer posting my opinion as it doesn’t seem to fit what other people think I should think. In fact I’ve had enough of being attacked by some newby and will be terminating my membership shortly. To those I have spoke to and met over the years – tight lines and all the best, Craig.

TF_Spuds1So i now undersatnd that the Airity has a stronger grade of Carbon , answers a lot .
How good and strong are the number fours on the Airity ? Would there be a situation where you would use a short number four compared to a standard four ? Reason i ask is i notice that the new Airity comes with no short number fours , was wondering why daiwa had left them out ?

TF_Fred DavisQuite agree stay on site craig I for one enjoy reading about your veiws, as for personal attacks on posters there’s no need for it, I am certain if you disagree with a posters remarks you can make your point without resorting to vulgarity, I for one would also suggest that any mods should moderate any such posts, however thats my veiw others may disagree, I may have ranted and raved in the past on the odd post, any offence given was quickly followed by a heartfelt apology. if your man enough to dish it out you should be man enough to apologise when you overstep the mark imo.
