We are off down to Stafford Moor on Saturday. Has anyone got any up to date information on form, methods, etc (other than what is on the website)?

Went for the first time last August and it was nearly all straight lead and pellet, with the odd pellet wag or margin fish depending on peg. Has anything changed?

Pretty much exclusively fished Tanners last year so also keen for any advice on any other pegs / lakes to try.

          Pretty much the same.

You should try Josephs, fish the spit facing the Dam wall around pegs 17,18,19 on the Pellet Wagg……hold on tight !

            Thanks Mark

Do you have to fish very shallow on the pellet wag? Appreciate that there is an element of trial and error, but should I be starting at 12″ or 3-4′?

I’d start at 2ft in open water, go deeper if no bites, shallower if liners, foulhookers or see fish mear surface etc! Fish 1ft or less if fishing tight to island.

It’s deep. I normally start at 4′ and work my way up

caught on 8mm meat at 11m sunday. affers 4 foot is the depth and that = loads of foul hookers. fish are in the top foot cruising, if you fish too deep then prepare yourself for lots of hard work. lead only working in certain places. woodpecker sunday peg 16 second using paste. peg 3 on woody 37lb of silvers. soft hookers. bivvy boys camped out on josephs after cats . best 20lb loads of baby cats caught.. best bet if pleasure fishing try peg 13 tanners it is solid with fish mid water , stay away from the islands unless your after stockies ie 3lb plus .peg 34 seems to be ok on tanners as is peg 20 on woody, although 22 won sunday. 12 fish for 121lbs. p/w 8mm pellet.. if your really adventurous try peg 10 on woody and fish behind you into the bushes, lol you,ll love that. 😀 😀 😀 😀 failing that ask seery then do the opposite. :p :p :p :p

tuesday was hard according to chris haines. peg 36 tanners won with just about a ton. still the same though plenty of fish last hour 5pm ish. prgs 18/20 seem to have lots of fish but 25 the peg that’s produced all year was difficult , chris said he could,nt buy a bite.
