Maver super litium 201 pole

  Hi all. Can any one give me any info on the above pole. I have just bought one one a certain auction site so it is slightly irrevalent but I wondered if anyone could give me an insight as to what I should expect when I pick it up.

  No, that would be if i picked up the scaffold pole that you normally use. LOL
  Has anyone got anthing usefull to add. How much did they cost when new – if anyone can remember back about 25 years

  Had one of these 20 years ago , the butt section tapered to a small diameter and bright green , top pole in its day i used it mainly on the canals ,but did use it for carping occasionally .

  I still have one that isn’t in too bad condition.
  
  Brilliant pole in its day, probably the best. Very narrow and I have used it for just about all my pole fishing. I think that was the pole that my 6 metre Maver Alborella whip fitted all the way through the top 5 sections. So I went and bought five more whips at £35 each. I had more top sections than anyone else but people like Nuddy! No 8 was still the strongest elastic though if I remember rightly. No carp but loads of tench to 5lb on it when they didn’t weed me.

  It either cost £1250 or £1350 if I remember correctly and it must have been 30 years ago not 20 as my current pole is 10 years old and I had a Drennan Polemaster 890 in between. I know it is about time I had a new pole but I have been retired for a while now.

  I know! I still have mine! I got it out the other day and I just could not believe how saggy and heavy it is, mine has a flat butt section and is very small in diameter, in fact the butt section was designed to be smaller in diameter than the second from last section, Phil Briscoe showed me this pole when he and Maver were based near Watton in Norfolk, he was gushing about it! and I was in awe of it…..how poles have changed in those few years.
