        Hi all

Advice needed – I have a club match at TBF this weekend on Canal Pool. Never fished this one before but as its TBF I imagine its mainly F1’s.
Anyone fished this recently and knows what baits, methods are best?
        Any noted pegs?

        Thanks for any help.

Fished it in the run up to the Supercup final. I fished peg 5, had 89lb fishing meat across and down the edge later on. Mainly carp F1’S and a few barbel. After speaking to locals pegs 1 and 24 usually fish well as does 2 and 3. Ideally if you have cover on the far bank either rushes or grass the peg fishes better as the fish have somewhere to hide. Bare bank pegs are not as good, after catching a few fish they seem to back off a bit. Any peg with rushes on will hold bigger mirrors and commons. Whilst I was there about half a dozen pegs had over a ton. It’s great fishing if you are on a few. At the time I fished worm was the best bait.

Give the fishery a ring and they should tell you which bait is best. Personally though if you feel confident with one type of bait fish that else you might end up confusing yourself with a bait or method you are not comfortable with.

Hope you have a good day.

Thansk for the info scrubba, much appreciated! I’ll let you know how it goes on Sunday.

Just one thing. I’ve been told to feed lightly as the fish respond better. Did you find this? Little and often through a kinder I’m told.
            Thanks

feed little and very often and keep it consistent, early pegs 1 – 3 are flyers. If they are there close in (upto 5 or 6 metres) they may well come up in the water so i would not rule out maggot. There website is normally pretty good and up to date

                Hi Mandrax.

I fed 6mm cubes of meat that had been through the cutter twice to make the pieces small and rough mixed in with some groundbait, probably 50:50 meat and crumb through a kinder pot after each fish and fished a 6mm cube on the hook (16 B911). I just kept dropping a few pellets on either side of the peg about a top kits length along and fished meat on the hook again. If the waters shallow by your platform the fish will give themselves away.

                Enjoy the day.
