        Hi, am off work next week and wondered if anyone could reccomend some day ticket stretches on the River Wye. Would like to be on the bank for about 06.00. So ideally would like to know of stretches where they sell them on the bank. Or if not, can be brought in advance? Thanks.

          Some lovely stretches of water. Online booking. Slightly more expensive but worth it.

          Day Tickets for Hereford Town waters woodys angling centre. £6.00 per rod per day. Advance purchase in person only.

          Lots of canoes through the middle part of the day but otherwise fishing well.

            Thanks Dave, just looked at Wye & Usk, they’ve got some cracking looking waters. Probably be Woody’s though as at least I should be able to get advice on pegs and methods. Don’t suppose you know if you can use maggot and caster on the Hereford waters do you? Cheers

              Hi Ziggy

              Yes you can use what you want. The early season ban on maggot was lifted about 20 years ago.

              There are a lot of small dace and bleak on all stretches at present so bring bigger baits to get through them if needed. Meat is always a good one.

              Woody will sort you out and send you towards fish.

                Only 20 years ago! lol Shows how often I’ve fished the Wye recently.
