I have a charity match for the co-op on one of these towards the end of September, not sure which one yet, as Iv not been told.

I’m just looking for a brief picture of how to target the place as it’s not somewhere Iv fished before,
        Cheers in advance
        Jase

            Hi Jason,

I fished the Glebe for the first time this month in a match to raise money for the England Ladies Team.

My blog will help you out, hopefully, as it describes my approach.

            http://lewylewylewy.blogspot.com/2011/08/mfs-england-ladies-fundraiser-glebe-2nd.html

            In general,

First hour, feeder tight to the far bank
Pole line at 5 to 6m
Feed margins and check for signs

If your catching on the feeder, stay on it…

Andy Findlay took an usual approach. At the all-in, he potted in 9 pints of pellets, maggots, corn on his pole line. He then fished the feeder for 4 hours and the last two went over the pole line with paste and bagged up.

He ended up second with 144lb.

            Hope this helps,
            Mark

Corn on a top 4 seems to be an approach often used by locals. You need lots of tins if they are having it, some using 30 to 40 tins for a match.
I have been a member since last September and have done well every time I have been but they can be fussy fish!! One week they go mad on corn the next week you cant get anything on it. I would take a various baits and ring changes if its not working.
Groundbait feeder and maggot, pellets, corn and paste should cover everything.
On the feeder you need to be tight over. The nearside margins can be electric as I have often caught on this line, lots of lumps too so do not fish light.
One final tip, keep feeding, sometimes the more you feed the more you will catch especially late on.

30-40 tins lol ive never seen anyone fish that much at the glebe not even Gordon the corn parker….10-15 tins is plenty for your 5m and margins 5-6 hours

Feedback was from Roy himself Kev, Three trays of 12 I was told was being used by many anglers there earlier in the season.
I got through 11 tins in 3 hours fishing down the edge left and right for 64 carp.
I have also seen the number of tins many anglers take to there pegs, obviously I cant state they use it all.

                    hi

From what i hear the Corn aint producing at all like it has in previous seasons!

                    Tip far bank!

Pellets – pinging on pole, or caster shallow if conditions right!

Or groundbait in the edge with worm or bunch of maggot over the top! 😉

I would check with Roy dont bank on Corn though unless the stories are untrue!

Corn at 5m has been sporadic but i emptied peg 81 down the edge thursday 5 tins corn and 2 pints of hemp,i know its pleasuring but they still loved munching the corn..I fished 8mm pellet on the deck at 13m pinging 6mms as well and caught lots of smaller carp on that line(never seen a peg fizz so much it was Mental)…My m8 fished 82 and his tip went round all day..3 dead reds and marukyu 131 he fished.

So i would definetely take the corn but not 30-40 tins lol

Cheers guys, it’s Definatley at the glebe and not mallory park which I’m pleased about, as Iv read countless articles in the mags over the years from there, so I have a fair idea of what I’ll need to be doing.
Any pegs I should be hoping for??

Jason, fished lake 1 last Sunday on club outing 94lb won the match. Me, after no signs of a fish for first couple of hours ended up with 57lb mostly on bomb fished over short pole line on corn. Strong wind was bit of a problem for me on pole hence dropping the bomb out. Hooked and lost couple of decent fish from down the edge late on.

if your on a peg where you get a chuck,, use a gb feeder with triple dead red (krilled) maggots,
fish it till you stop getting indications or start to get perch,
the 6 ton of corn thing is a load of pony,
have a pellet n paste line at bottom of near side slope
feed 2 margins, one with pellet n paste
and the other with a couple of kilo of loose groundbait and fish the krilled maggots over it !!!
thats what im gunna do anyway,, its worked the last 2 visits,,
especialy the gb n maggot margin line, but you do need to feed it heavy.
im there wednesday for a marukyu day !!!
should be a decent day out,, beats work anyway !!! 😀

                                Some up to date info
Today saw the members £1000 summer grand final, all the lakes fished hard, I was second in the first section on lake1 with 82lb all on the feeder 85lb won fishing long up the margin on peg 1

The middle section was won with 130 lb odd pellet shallow
Bottom section was won again with 130 lb odd pellet shallow

Lake 4 was won from end peg 66 with 70lb
Not sure about lake 5 but i think it was won with under a ton
