thinking of booking a match at drayton res anyone fished it lately and can you still use keepnets or do you have to weigh every fish. any info would be great.

I’m sure keepnets are not allowed. The fish average double figures and you have to weigh each one. The bailiff has gone on on record as saying this was the best decision he ever made so I can’t see any chance of a reverse. The best bet for form might be to drop one of the lads on Match Fishing magazine in Daventry an email – they work less than a mile away from Drayton Reservoir….

Correct no keepnets you have to weigh every fish or base your match around counting the number of carp you catch its not a match venue anymore you might aswell book your match at One of the many other venues which cater for match anglers.

no keepnets allowed , better to book pegs if there is a few of you going . book the dam wall high numbers if you can 40+ , fished it last week it fished its nuts off !! i was on about peg 43 i think , fish comming to pellet wag 2-6ft deep. keep altering your depth to stay in contact with the fish , there was 6 of us fishing i had 37 carp to 16 lb between us i think we had about 80-90 fish all on wag feeding 6mil and fishing 8mil on hook . hope this helps .
