        Hello all

For the past few years our club annual has been going to Larford & Solhampton, staying in Stourport.

        We need a change!

        Anybody got some ideas?

Must be less than 100 mile from Derby

We need to have B & B or number of B & B’s to cater for 20 (with off road parking), which are not to far from fishery.

And most importantly the areas the B & B’s are must have a few pubs!

Any details please let me know

        Cheers

I once remember going to Sothern Ireland and staying right out in the sticks and there were no pub for 7 miles !! Go to Lindholme for the weekend I think Neil rents vans out.

We sometimes go to Bridgenorth, just over an hour & quarter from Derby, plenty of venues within a 15 mile radius, and Bridgenorth itself has no shortage of pubs or places to eat and there’s a reasonable tackle shop at the end of the lower town main bridge, for live bait. Boldings is not far, several diff lakes to choose from and there’s the fishery that Matt Hayes is involved in, can’t remember the damn name several good lakes, loads of fish, bit of a treck but worth it IMOP…if your interested I’ll try and give you the pub details – which also had a lock up, useful for kit overnight, and a big car park at the rear..

Go to Heronbrook & book Meadow Pool, small village near by called Eccleshall, lots of pubs that do b&b, chinese & indian restaurants.

manor farm leisure near evesham is well worth a trip a few of my mates from darlington have started going in september as they were fed up of fighting for pegs at white acres. caravans cafe and pub on site and the fishng is good too.

I know its a little bit further than 100 mile but have a look at a place called Bron Eifion in Cricieth, in Wales. Our club goes every year for a weekend away and its superb. Plenty of fish, pubs and hotels. Its a cracking weekend.

I dont think I could sleep in a Band B with my gear left in a car overnight. There have been a number of thefts from gear left in cars, even whilst some anglers have simply gone for a breakfast. Lockable out of sight storage would be a minimum requirement for me.
Lindholme might be a good call but plenty of ditches to fall in if worse for wear.
