Cheers mate , is there enough match sized carp in the lake , ive heard there are a lot of small fish in the lake to target on the pole, would you use micros or groundbait on the method ,cheers.

Pole and pellet or paste at 5-6m works well for small carp and skimmers. You can do 40lb+ if its right.

Bigger weights tend to be from tight to the lillies from most pegs 30m+ on method. I’d go groundbait as they get pre-occupied with micro’s. Make sure you try the pellet wagg tight to the lillies as well, it catches lots of fish but is fun keeping them out of the undergrowth!!!

Its been fishing poor of late looking at the results pages and when I last went only 30lb needed to win so need to work lillies and pole line I suggest.

You can but I wouldn’t it’ll probably just fizz its head off……big time.

Suggest you keep it tight with pellet little and often, on pole 4mm best.

They rarely seem to come shallow so toss pot for each fish would be my advice whilst pinging 6-8mm at the lillies depening on peg and wind!!

35lb will be a good weight and win most matches looking at the last few weeks there.
