  have a club match coming up shortly at a well known fishery,so phoned for some advice and information.The only words i can use to describe the person on the phone is IGNORANT …… made you feel very uncomfortable. and if you were a fool,i was only asking the usual questions size off fish,bait being used,dept etc …wasn’t going to mention the fishery but i will HERONBROOK…was so looking forward to fishing the place as well leaves a bad taste 😡 😡

  I’d say a far better way to put this would have been to ask who you were speaking to on the phone and then either take the matter up with the owners when you get there or name the person on here if you so wish.
  I’m sorry but naming and shaming a venue because of someone who works there is just not right.
  And before anyone asks i dont have any association with Heronbrook at all.

  Neil (fishery owner) is not an angler. He runs the fishery but that means taking your money and might help with peg numbers on your lake that have produced good weights in the last few weeks. The rest is up to you!
  
  The lakes are stuffed full of fish (F1s, carp, barble plus silvers of all sizes) and all normal baits can and do work.
  
  The cafe might be open for breakfast if there are enough anglers booked in to make it worth his while.Depends if there are several clubs booked on the lakes or an open match. The cafe could even be shut if there is only a small number of clubs booked on to fish. After 10am the cafe will normally be closed.

  I learn something new every day, lol Neil comes across as a none fishing fishery owner with very little interest in the anglers or how they catch. Never seen him fish any of the Heronbrook opens. Although, its not often i fish on Heronbrook. 6 times this year is the most visits i,ve had in one year to the fishery.

  Hi Tony,
  you are not the only person that I have spoken to that has the same opinion as yourself ,we used to go there 4-5 times a year and have now stopped going,just a waste of time asking the normal questions about how its fishing etc and being told you can catch on anything really.I don’t profess to a great angler but I do expect a little bit more info than we got, also we were going for 5 years so he knew who we were.
  We go elsewhere now where you get decent information so he has lost out and we will not be going back , funnily enough only last Friday I was talking to a guy who had been a few weeks ago and he said they were the only club on there so I suppose others have thought the same.
