I have fished there on and off for over 15 years and despite what many people think & say, you won’t get any trouble…i’ve never had any and nor have my mates who still fish there week in week out.
I fish at Partridge mostly now but fished the park twice earlier in the year. I caught loads of chub shallow on maggot but got plagued by tiny perch on the deck. It’s worth holding out for the bream on pellet as they go to 3lb and theres a chance you’ll get a tench or two as well.
You need to fish a maggot / caster line for the perch and chub and feed little and often. (just 3 or 4 maggots every put in.
Also have a bream line with just a bit of groundbait or micros and fish a 4mm expander over the top, you’ll have to sit it out but it will give you a chance if you get a couple.
You will get a few pegs that do quite well and then a few that have real gruellers…it’s just the way the place is..very peggy!!
In my opinon, it needs a load more fish putting in – at least 5000 chub or F1’s would be ideal, but i’m not sure the club can afford it.
Best pegs are near the boat house (1 & 30 i think) or on the bridge (7,8 & 23 i think).
Good Luck
