Has anyone used one of these?, and if so are they any good, like the idea of 4 made up rods worth of storage.

I tried it out for a known dealer. Its very good and very good value for money. It saves on carrying so many rod bags which are needed now a days. Can trust MAP for good kit pal! Look at the Preston Monster to though…

          Cheers

I’ve got one and it’s the nuts! It’s surprising how much easier it makes it to get at your gear setting up. It’s quite a heavy bit of kit (even empty) but the point of balance is brill and the padding on the strap is luxury, and both make it easy to carry. That said, you may well just bung it on your barrow 😀

I like the look of both the preston monster and the map layflat. My complaint with both…you can’t zip off the ready rod parts when not needed to reduce the bulk and weight of the holdall. I know a zip is a weak point, but there’s plenty of times I don’t need to carry rods at all.

Mosella Kompact 4 or 8 System is another good rod holdall.
