Very disapointing to read this thread,
I know Bob Dyer will be working hard for the Angling Trust to get it all sorted over the next week It has already been said the event will go ahead so why leave now, perhaps not the only reason
I really do hope all the league’s hang on and at least see what they say.

Letter arrived today off Bob Dyer. The only change this year is that teams are required to pay £100 instead of last years £60. Shame our league folded because of teams leaving prematurely. Seems there was no need to worry.

not had a letter yet but have had a phone call about a meeting on monday night a week before its supposed to start .im not holding my breath 🙁 as i suggested if we do get enough teams interested why not have 5 sections on the canal and 5 on the river it will stop a lot of long walks and anglers can have a choice of venues it would also cut down the traveling to sections of the river .it seamed to fall on deaf ears though
did the letter menion whether you had to be a member of the angling trust as a few of the teams that used to fish the league don’t fish nationals or fisho’s so i can’t see them wanting to pay for a membership plus the £100 entry [they should be members i know]

You are not required to be individual members this year Joff. Only requirement is the £100 and team list by 1st October

I got all the paperwork today at long last got my captains meeting booked, 7 definate teams and trying to make up a team from the old rod n reel. There might be a few places available for individuals to fish in that team. I will advertise if the team is short.

                            Wheres the extra £40 going,

it is a shame teams pulled out, but try convincing 20 odd anglers that they would have some league to fish, a lot easy to let them go there own way this year and hopefully the Angling Trust will be a bit quicker off the mark for next year and try to get some format together of what his going to happen.

I wonder if its going to be regionalised leagues? With teams of 6/8?

my personal oppinion is that the lower teams in our league will pull out next year leaving the top teams to form a super league or premiership league with other leagues.
who knows we will wait and see

Hmm – no mention of fee increases in the statement 2 weeks ago.

Then we get told of a 66% rise, 17 days before the squad lists have to be submitted.

                                Stinks to high heaven.

                                  Stinks??

What do you think is the reason angling times pulled out? The reason is Bauer Media wouldnt continue to give it any financial support. The angling trust cannot afford to support the team champs financially so hence the increase.

And £40 increase between 20 blokes aint even worth talking about is it?

Which just serves to prove that the ‘I’m alright Jack, sod the rest of you’ attitude is still alive & well.

We should agree to disagree; each to their own opinion, but I still think it stinks.
