TF_toby bFished a match on strips yesterday mate 50 fished on three pools cedar, and yew.The general opinion was that it fished hard with a good few tipping back 64lb won off oaks i was on cedar peg 22 had 42lb for second on the lake I fished pellet feeder with meat and pellet hook bait and pellet and maggot on the pole at about 10m plus margin line either side. Was cold so they seemed a bit reluctant to come close but I did catch there on paste last hour. Is about 5-6 everywhere and margin shelf is steep. The lake was won with 61lb and he fished chopped worm and caught steadily all match.
I fished 0.16 and .3g rigs as was pretty calm when we started but once the wind and rain arrived these where no way heavy enough I should of gone up to .5g at least.
I am by no means a regular at the venue these days so dont know how the locals approach it but hope this helps -

Anonymoushi mate im a decoy regular the strips are fishing well especially if you draw the middle to far end pegs, if you get an end peg go long up the end banks with pellets or worm and caster or 4-6mm meat you can catch well short and to the edges, there isnt a shelve in the edges unless you get a clear bank upto the grass side, find 2-3ft and fish there, otherwise choose a swim short and fish on the deck tosspotting your bait choice, you can catch shallow at 6-12 metres on pellets,or, casters or maggots (chop worm and caster has been working well lately).swims are upto 7ft deep
Beastie is a tough lake, you need an island chuck if possible then clip up as tight to the island as you dare fish the feeder with corn or meat and keep casting each 4minutes,
long shallow pellet or on the deck pellet or meat 6ft deep most swims, guru pellet feeder works with 3 dead maggots, 5metre line can produce lumps to 20lbs on catmeat and pellets or cup in big pots of corn whatever you are comfy with.
Willows is a tough lake unless you get one of the six fliers…chopped worm and caster is the way forward, shallow, and on the deck, method tight to the island is awesome if you get it tight if you choose to fish short in the edge feed plenty of worm, casters or maggots loads of massive barbel that can win the match but fish strong and keep em away from you platfor legs and nets.
six islands is just an awesome lake mate.
If you get an island swim just fish long pole up it with worm and caster or meat 4-6mm
trickle pellets or corn in at 5-6m fishing paste or catmeat or 6mm expander over late on
if you get peg 9 go long pole up the end bank in the clearing if you get 15 fish the island on method while feeding the corner lightly then go to the corner for some munters peg 24 is a great corner peg plenty of bites long to the right tight in
its a rewarding lake if you get the pegs right mate most fish are 4lbs-15lbs mirrors but a few pegs catch lots of smaller f1’s on pellets depth of upto 5ft
hope this helps -

TF_mauler7Google satellite, blimey you should know. Cheers for the info. The islands look tiny , I take it not all pegs have an island. How do you approach it if you haven’t got one . Cheers
