TF_tractorboyIs it just me or has the Angling times match results section in the paper become rather sparce and a complete mish mash?
The results sections seem no longer split in to regions and I have seen a lot of ‘due to print dead lines some results won’t have made the paper but can be viewed on line’ over the last few weeks.
Lots of results don’t get in the paper despite being rang through to the correspondants, and some match results in this weeks paper are from 3 weeks ago.
Whats happening to what used to be good coverage of matches up and down the country?
A classic in this weeks paper is in big print it says’ 8 pages of open and club match results’ well there is half a page of club results and 3 1/2 pages of open match results. Then 3 pages of the county champs final.
It used to be much better imo and where has the match magazine gone that we had for a while? That was quite good.

TF_DodgeThis topic arose a couple of months ago on here. Be prepared for a PR exercise from AT later in this thread ! 😉 🙂
Maybe with online results AT have started to copy Anglers Mail who have been doing it for several years ?

TF_tractorboyAr yes Ken I got some free floating things that are supposed to look like maggots free with my AT.
Would rather have results though. lol
Its just disappointing not to have the match results in when someone has made the effort to ring them through and you have made the effort to collate them and send to AT.

TF_kwadejNow I get the drift, someone I know did very well at the weekend, well done mate!
I do understand, we all had some big matches to cover over the weekend and its hard to keep the organisers on your side when it happened, thankfully only a very few times a year though. But whilst many matchmen like to read the results fresh each week, other will buy the paper if it has a free gift on it.
Should all be back to normal next week though with lots of winter league’s getting underway, including the Castle Ashby League I think and several other open matches around the country.
Good luck mate, get your hand in the draw bag and pull out the one with Scotland on it. 🙂 🙂 🙂Ken

AnonymousI think you will find there is a pattern to it…
One week is limited results all grouped together, the next week is a full program seperated into counties as it always used to be. It has been like this for 6 weeks or more.
I just but it every fortnight now
Well done AT top budgeting LOL

TF_kwadejNot quiet right MRP
Free gifts have been on September 13 & 27, October 11 and perhaps one more to come in November.
As I said, some love the free gifts, matchmen may not!
You and I may not think they are up to much but there are a lot of others that do.Match results are still a major part of the Angling Times and hopefully always will be, and for most of the year you will see them in print first in Angling Times.

KenWell i thought i would check my theory out today having not bought AT for the first week since the rip off edition at Christmas and guess what…..?
Minimal results
I bought the Angling mail instead, at least they are consistent in having results 2 weeks old

Yup, you are right, the Mail is always at least 2 weeks behind, thats just the way they like to do it, but for most of the year the Angling Times try very hard to keep their results as up to date as possible, as they have done right throughout the year (Unless there is a free gift on the cover, or its a Christmas edition 😉 ).
Give the A/T a try next week, you will be suprised to see results from the weekends action 😀 😀 😀 .
Last post for me on this as it really has been done to death on several other posts 🙂 🙂 🙂 -
