Watched the Chelsea V Arsenal match this afternoon and loved It! Before the match, one SKY sports Wag stated that Robin Van Persie was the ‘only’ world class player in the Arsenal squad!! ,not sure who mentioned it, could have have been Gary Neville (Man U) or Jamie ‘Nice Suit’ (Spurs). Anyway, as you are probably aware Arsenal scored five goals to Chelsea’s three… yes! I know RVP scored three, but does this mean RVP is better than anyone at Chelsea or that Chelsea have no world class players?

World class players are banded about willy nilly in this country…IMO There are only 4……I wont name them,,,but i can tell you none of them are English.
Robin Van Persie is a very gifted player who is on an injury free roll…The man is on fire and he has given us Arsenal supporters some hope of finishing in the top 10 of the prem…However he is playing in a very inexperienced side, and only has Wiltshire and Ramsey on his wave legnth.I pray that he remains fit for at least 1 more month, otherwise we will collapse.
What was evident is that Chelsea were shocking, and their defence was absolute shite. Our John Terry was dire, and shouldnt have been on the pitch with all the crap about him on every front page.I know for a fact he nearly pulled out.
WORLD CLASS?…..NONE PLAYED ON THAT PITCH TODAY…..IMO OBVIOUSLY.

P.S Who will put in a bid of 40 million for RVP ?……And very soon …..And he will go. 😡 😡 😡 😡

I would suggest that most players who play for both Arsenal and Chelsea are world class, as the majority represent their respective countries on the world stage. However the ‘best in class’ is a different story!

The rumour mill is rife in Manchester ……

I was at the Etihad Stadium yesterday and all the talk was City will be in for Van Persie to replace Tevez in january ! 😉

How many in premiership would get into barcelona side? If all the players in premiership were spanish how many would get into spains team?
Man utd have a good team but Rooney is probably as near to world class as any of them but I don’t think he is quite there.Liverpools nearest is Suarez but he is too wasteful in front of goal.Spurs have Bale,1/2 a good season,Chelsea have paid a lot of money out but how many look world class.Man city have probably the most world class aguera(spelling),Kolarov, dzeko De silva and maybe one or two others.
As a Liverpool fan what worries me is that if one of the big (money) clubs likes the look of Suarez then a double your money offer would take him away real easy.Building a team now will be very hard for anyone outside of the big 3 (Man.utd,Man.city and chelsea)

Dodge…Got it in one matey……He will go in January. He knows as do all the Arsenal followers that the poor old Gunners have gone. The stench of money reigns supreme in our game.As they timidly drop away into oblivion because our best players leave for the quick buck.Robin knows that they cannot entice any great players to the Emirates because they have gone tits up.
Arsenals future is in the hands of its younger players that are slowly coming to the boil, but even they(Wiltshire,Ramsey etc)will smell the mega sheckles offered on that large silver plate….and who can blame them.Loyalty does not exist in our once proud sport, and it seems that the future for the more gifted player ensures the wearing of many different colours(shirts).
My biggest concern is when the billionaires, who know **** all about football, and even less about the club they have invested in,decide to pull out and leave the poor buggers floundering in the quicksand of life.
The future?…….One European league of the best sides in their respective countries…..IMO obviously. 🙁 🙁 🙁

The financial fair play rules will be introduced in the 2012/13 season, which will go some way in adressing the financial issues that are rife in the premiership and in a few years time the footballing landscape will look a lot different to what it is now. IMO. I read somewhere that Plantini descibed the current situation in football as ‘anarchy’ and he is right!

The financial fair play rules arent worth the paper they are written on …… platini at UEFA like blatter at FIFA hate the English and the English game so dont anyone kid themselves. Sky and all its money runs european football and there are plenty of takers …….. so platini and all his rules and politics can dream on ! 😉

All English (and Welsh) clubs still aspire to be in the premier league because of Sky,s wealth and the riches on offer and above all else the English premier IS THE BEST league in the world by a long way. Also the FA cup is still the best club competition in the world where even the smallest clubs in the lower tiers of the footballing pyramid can reach the “proper” rounds and draw the “giants” and huge pay days plus the real cup “romance” ……… awesome stuff we should cherish no matter what part of the country we come from and whoever we support ! 😉 😎

PS MTB , hiya mate 😀 Neither Manchester club would sign up to a “European Super League” the fans of both clubs would not allow it ! 😉 😎

Dodge, how long before Manchester City fans get bored of only 2 teams who can give them a game or what if they keep getting better and no team is a threat? I know that as a new thing for you the first few years will be great but it must be like people who say that a fish a chuck gets to be as bad as blanking.
Not knocking your team by the way as they are playing some lovely football and if we could get owners with the same financial clout it would be great but as I say if playing at Liverpool,Spurs and Arsenal is seen as the same as going to Swansea or Norwich then what will excite the next generation. As M.T.B. says european football may be all that can challenge you in a few years time.Just to reiterate not having a pop at city or their fans you are living the dream, just hope its not a nightmare for E.P.L.

Hiya DAT , no probs mate 😉

The prem season is only 10 games old and you wont see any City fans getting carried away with all the hype and crap in the media. We have experienced the very lows , mocked relentlessly by arrogant Man Utd fans for decades , relegated every other year , almost went bust only a few years ago, been there wore the tee shirt proper style ……….. but MCFC have bounced back and are enjoying the moment ……. the moment thousands and thousands of City fans thought they would never see in their lifetime , only Manchester knows how it is right now and we wouldnt swap it for the world mate !

Massive game v Villarreal away wednesday night …… our season could be made or lost with what happens there 😉

Man City in the champions league ???? IS IT REALLY HAPPENING ????? LOL 😉 😀 😀 😎

Maybe your right as you have probably seen more world class players at your team than I have watching Liverpool. Can only think of Torres for 1 1/2 seasons and thats about it.
How many world class players do you think you need to have a world class team.I know that I should hate your lot but you can still look at players and say world class no matter who you support, just going to throw some names down from your team who I would class as world class.Of these how many were world class in your opinion, ignore the spellings.
                                Schmeichel
                                G.Neville
                                Giggs

                                Keane
                                Beckham
                                Bruce(No England caps!!!!,how?)
                                Ronaldo
                                Van Nistleroy
                                Cantona
Think thats enough to be going on with, also a little game I like to play is looking at our present team and asking how many would get into our best ever team.Pretty easy at moment as the answer is always zero :), would that be the same with your present team.I think that none of Arsenals would make their best ever, only cech at Chelsea would get in but more on reputation than form Spurs need a big trophy to put them into same class as the 1960s side. Now again how many Man city players would make a best 11.
One last thought, would your Present team be where they are without the worlds best manager.

“football is a funny old game” 😀 never a truer word was spoken. no one team can ever dominate for ever. sooner or later things will change. i well remember reading that RUSH was about to rejoin liverpool. christ i thought they are nearly untouchable now , this will give them domination for years to come . wrong. it had the opposite effect, the scousers took there eye off the ball and failed to follow the liverpool way and did not recruit the correct replacements. the rest is history. then you had chelski. money pouring from all sides. top class manager. two prems back to back. then ruski ego,s piss all over the club , as a result the team with the most settled structure return to dominate for 3 years whilst chelski clean up the mess. now today you have citeh pouring cash into building a team with some excellent results , BUT. they are now the media,s darlings and all eyes are focused on them 24/7. thats ok for a while but the novelty soon wears off and then the press look for alternative stories ,when they find none they make one up. the other little matter citeh will have to deal with is quite soon they will be the team everyone wants to beat and buses will soon be parked . this will lead to changes in the team and then unhappy players. the other thing that will occur is they will become a figure of envy which will be followed by hatred and instead of i hate man united, it will be i hate man citeh. are citeh equipped to cope??? time will tell but heyo enjoy the ride. i have been a football fan since 1956 and ive seen a few teams come and go and to be honest enjoyed every minute. i have seen some wonderful players and lots of dummy,s .. i have witnessed small clubs winning the league and big clubs being relegated. . as for world class players   define world class. messi, maybe but thats all i can come up with because the definition today of world class is a player who scores lots of goals and is loved by the media. ask yourself how many right backs can you name that are world class.

example of a world class player according to the experts== Michael Owen. how many would agree now.like the man said ” football is a funny old game” God bless Jimmy Greaves..
