Result of AVVC / Redditch Federation of Anglers Arrow Valley Lake individual League first Round, Arrow Valley Lake, Redditch 12.11.11

Due to other commitments a number of entrants were forced to miss this first round match of the league which runs over 9 matches through to next March, however the 16 who did make it enjoyed some good sport in the near perfect conditions.

Mark Dowery (unattached) took first place with an excellent catch of two carp plus a number of good bream for a total of 58lb 10oz, taken on method feeder tactics with maggot hookbait. Mark was on peg 55 and caught by casting between the two islanda.

Runner-up Dean Boswell (Harborne AC) was on peg 71,close to the playground, and fished the long pole with bronze maggot over groundbait for an all bream bag of 46lb 10oz, just getting the better of league organiser John Bushell (Maver Solihull Angling) on peg 70 next door, John also fished the pole finishing just one bream behind with a 43lb catch, in what was an excellent tussle between the two anglers.

Mark Hemmings (Fishermans Friend) took fourth spot with another good catch of 31lb 8oz ahead of Mark Bissett with 30lb 1oz, both bream bags taken on the feeder casting tight to large island.
