Just looking for a suitable hook in a stronger wire guage than a B511 for bagging on punch on venues such as the Old Nene at March and Welland through Spalding. Anyone with any recommendations?

mustad wide gape canal seed if you can get hold of some.

next one up would be the B611, or the B711 is you wanted intermediate sizes and a bronze finish.

When I was on the fen drain scene, a lot of anglers used to use Tubertini Series 2 or 4 patterns for punch/seed fishing. The Series 2 was a slightly heavier wire than the series 4 and had a round bend compared to a square (not crystal) bend on the series 4.

Cheers for the replies, had considered both the B560 and B611 already, though was worried the B611 was a little too heavy in the wire guage. Had a look at the tubertinis, but hard to get hold of local to me. Wish the wide gape seed was available though as it looks ideal but never mind. Will give the b560 and b611 a go and see how I get on.

I use the Drennan polemaster competition( they used to be called the supercarbon canal) if I’m on a lot of fish. They have a long shank which makes hooking and unhooking easier.
