We love him at willingshurst he can allways pull a good and bad peg and get it to work, also can blank at times, but generally a good egg,can moan for england aswell lol but his real prowess is catching fish and reading whats happening under the water class act and very hard to beat , so if you knick a pound off him from next peg TREASURE IT cause you wont win another ps steve was last sat but back sun for another go, cant keep him down his. rigs for every match are made up in advance no old tat for him all fresh should be called mr PERFECTION

Fantastic angler, always a pleasure to be on a match with him. People have said that he is one of the best silver fish anglers in thr WORLD. Big statement i know, but who can diagree with it. Certainly not me, a true angling legend. Never afraid to ask questions. 🙂

Steve G……..A great World class angler and a right top geezer.Steve will talk to and help even the worst angler……and proves this every time WE meet.
I have had the privelege of sitting on the next peg on numerous ocassions, and he doesnt miss a trick. If another angler is catching he notes everything, and puts that knowledge quickly into his thoughts and improves the method immediately……In ten or so mins he is catching at a faster rate.As “Diawa pro” has said, like all great anglers,Steve has that gift of knowing what is going on under the water, and if there are any fish in his peg he will catch them.
The great man has one problem in my opinion however…….HE SUPPORTS BLOODY CHELSEA…….Like all “Blue bellies” he only sings when their winning”… 🙂 🙂 🙂 :p :p :p

Always remember talking to Steve many many years ago (probably 20 years) at Evesham, when he was sponsered by Normark. He said to me what’s the lightest waggler rod you’ve ever held. He then let me have a waggle with his Normark Microlight, I was well impressed. After that I bought a 13ft and a 12ft microlight. I still have both of them to this day.

Truely !! An awesome awesome angler. I think to be a really successful angler, you sometimes have to think like a fish. This man is a fish :D. He knows how much to feed and what to feed, he can fish every method.. He has been at the top for so long and he’s still willing to learn. Toplights he will be mugging us for another 40yrs 🙁 🙁 I take it as a great achievement the 3 and the only 3 times I’ve managed to have beaten him off the next peg…. Did he moan 😀 😀

He won again today at Furnace 60lbs from the wrong end of the lake, last peg in the shallows.

Good point that about asking questions, even when he’s walloped you he’ll still ask how you caught.
