I have both mate and think the pierotti just edges it once i got used to it, i bit more fiddley at first as was used to a matchman hook tyer. However the pro tie still has its uses for longer hooklengths. I gather buffys are equally as good if not better if you cant get hold of a pierotti.
          Hope this helps.

I’ve had the pro-tie for donkeys years, don’t use it much now(don’t use any of my kit much now, come to that).Found it easy enough to use, providing you do the usual-wet the line etc.
Takes a bit of re-measuring to get hooklenghts spot on length wise though, don’t rely on the markers, found them to be way out.

Hi mate, I use the pro-tie system for hook lengths and rigs cant fault it,(got the extension piece), I found the pierotti too fidley but I suppose its what you get used to, hope this helps.
