unfortunately it’s anglers like this that urk me, gear given in good faith on loan and not returned when requested, however he was quick enough to turn up to collect the gear when he wanted it, i don’t care what excuses are made there are none that excuse such behavour. I have a good mate who had some pole sections and agreed a price but never paid for them I personally don’t know how he sleeps at night, however it doesn’t bother him that he’s ripped off a fellow mate/angler, it’s sharp practice carried out by a few who don’t give a damn! The trouble is many are likable rogues! I for one hope you get your gear back, however it’s a tough lesson learnt, TNFB as a good friend once said

Maybe he’s embarrassed by his “mate’s” actions…or lack of them. The stupid thing is that Terry is a nice bloke….laid back, easy going but basically a good bloke.

If it was me i’d give him a deadline. A reasonable one, say incorporating two or three weekends.

If I didn’t have my kit back by then i’d be visiting him on a match.

He’d be punted into the lake with a foot between the shoulder blades and his box and contents would follow him in shortly thereafter.

Another SIX WEEKS gone…..still waiting

I know the feeling Ross: Five or six years ago I ‘sold’ a rod to Steve Mac (anyone remember him?) and delivered it to a guy at the Fishing Show at the NEC who was going to give it to him: Fuel, parking but not cost of entry as someone had kindly sent me a trade ticket.

Yeah…except that I don’t know his address and I’ve now moved 120 miles north of sunny Surrey. All I have is a mobile phone number that somebody gave me, and he’s never answered that, so may not be the right one.

It would be nice if MTB were to try and sort it out since it was his post on here that I originally replied to and he does seem able to contact Terry.

I was talking to Bob Clampett about it whilst I was still living in Surrey, he said that Terry lives in a block of flats and he advised me not to go round there after dark 😀

Chrismoorhead, i think you asked for that one brother 😮 sounds like this guy who lent the gear out in the first place was a star and really doesnt deserve to be put in the situation he’s in now! I feel sorry for you buddy especially when it involves mates as it makes it that much more awkward……. Hope you get it sorted
