TF_missabiteWho would have thought there would be a method feeder world championships. If you’d have told me that a while ago I’d have thought you were bonkers.

TF_rik_jIt’s not like the method feeder is unknown in the rest of the world. I heard the russians used it with great success in the past feeder-WC 😀

TF_The SeekerIt looks like a case of sour grapes to me.
Instead of looking at why the team were beaten people are looking at ways to make sure there is less chance in the future of other nations winning.Accept the defeat and look to improve.

TF_geepsterParticipantIt does strike me as slightly ridiculous that you have the world match fishing championships which have such strict rules that you can’t have more than 10% of the weight of the float on the deck…. and then you have a new event where bolt rigs are encouraged.

TF_wightanglerwhy then call it a ‘feeder champs’ and ban the method? clearly it was’nt a feeder champs only a cage or open ended feeder champs.

TF_FordyFrom speaking to a few of the guys who fished it, the problem was the way it was fished really became ‘chuck it and chance it’ in some areas. There were anglers casting all over the shop.
The thing I’ve always found brilliant to watch with top-class feeder anglers is the accuracy of casting to a tight area, and the subtle changes to presentation which make a difference. That’s what should be what wins you a World Champs.
I suspect the type of venue this is fished on makes a massive difference. Maybe we should host one here on a commercial?

TF_geepsterParticipantTo be honest I don’t agree in the World Feeder Champs and I think it’s just a way for CIPS to make more money. IMO either it should be allowed as part of a World Match Fishing Champs, or not. Would you break the shore fishing champs into float fishing and legering? I think it’s a very slippery slope. Why not have a world pole fishing champs, and a world pellet waggler champs, and slider fishing champs, and a fishing shallow champs……. ?

TF_allyParticipantI find it a bit odd that Steve Ringer was picked ahead of his brother, as in most articles I have read he seems to acknowledge that Phil is a better feeder angler than him. I don’t know either of them, and have no axe to grind and would think that there must be room for both.

TF_fred van den feederTotaly agree with Geepster! And if they now find the need to arrange a feeder WC event why not allow all ways of feeder fishing? methood, pole feeder, floating feeder, what hookleinght you want and so on. And for the smaller countrys like mine WHERE is the time to fish all this championship? How shall we afford it? Club WC, European Championship, World Championship, Feeder Championship,Its very hard for us to make TWO now. WHen a high profile sponsor angler like Allan Scotthorn says in a intervju that he got no time to fish commersials during summer becouse he focus on international events and this year he put in 3 month for three matches…! HE FISH FOR A LIVING! Try to ask your boss if you can take 3 month of to go fishing…

TF_Dr.PhilAgree Fred ! smaller countries will now struggle at the WC/EC and other events covering ladies , youth ,disabled ,feeder etc….. as it requires kind sponsorship and alot of money . But i found it really sad this year that Italy had spent X amount of weeks practising , surely there should be a limit , think of other teams like yourselves , South Africa, Australia etc…..who can only just afford to practice a few days then fish !! not a level playing field at all in fact a farce !
The Feeder championship will struggle to get a full compliment of countries , why dont they just allow any method that includes pole ,feeder, whip, waggler ?
Feeder championship is a ”A COMPETITION TOO FAR ”
