TF_TIDALWAVE1Lads,at the end of the day regardless of the biased, and lack of honesty regarding genuine tackle reviews in magazines.if someone posts on here asking for advice,we should give a proper opinion, and not a wind up,otherwise we are as bad as we have been led to believe we are

TF_redarmydaz which shop do you use rochdale angling centre, tight lines ? keirron rich lives in manchester so assuming your local shop has a diawa account ask the owner to get keirron to bring his rod samples in for you to have a look at.

TF_SwimfeederWhat rods do you currently use Daz?
When I make a large fishing tackle purchase I always ask myself if what I am currently using can be significantly improved upon.
At the start of the summer I was looking at buying a new seat box, I currently use an old Daiwa Tournament and Penrose barrow/platform combo for fishing the river Yare and other places, I spent a considerable amount of time perusing various boxes in Angling Directs shop in Norwich…….and came to the conclusion non of what was on offer ( and they have an extensive range) would prove to be significantly better than my current choice, so I did not part with my “hard earned dollar” as you put it.
There is nothing wrong with upgrading your fishing gear mate, but IMO the upgrade should be a significant one, otherwise it will prove to be a bit of a gamble from what you know is proven gear and a waste of money in the long run.

TF_Daz NewellCheers guys thats better…a little bit anyhow.
I used to have preston rods but sold em to get Daiwa Tournaments…whilst the 10/11ft bomb rod is superb i like rods matching(TART I KNOW its been said loads of times)i have become a pro at the pellet wag and the 12ft is 3 pce and is a NO NO for me and the new ones are the proper length in11ft and 2 pce but i just wondered about the float rod and feeder rod combo whether it was any good or a pile of you know what…………..
Also i have noticed they have changed the reel fittings, why this is i dont know cause on the old Tourneys it was superb…… -

TF_dirkdigglerI have the 12ft Tourney Pro rod and use it for pellet waggler fishing no problem.
However when the fish are bigger or i need to cast further the Spectron M2 12ft 2 piece Pellet Waggler is my choice and recommendation it’s a proper piece of kit imo.
I take it your on about the Airity range of rods Daz?
I’m not sure if it’s just me but they just look too wierd, strange reel seat no cork handle oh dear, the other reason i’ll not be buying any is theres nowt wrong with what i already have. -

TF_Daz NewellHi dirkdiggler…no its the Tournament Multi match rods…..and they have changed the reel seat which in my opinion is very wierd as on the old ones it was the best…

TF_dirkdigglerOh sorry pal i’ve not seen those myself.
Before you make your choice see if you can get a look at the Spectron M2 they really are very good. -
30/12/2011 at 10:21 pm #153108
TF_makerI agree, the 12ft spectron M2 is awesome for pellet wag, had the 12ft tournament and it just wasn’t up to it.

TF_sawyerThe new Tournament Multi rods are not yet available. I have seen and handled them at the first Daiwa trade show a few months ago. They should be available early in the new year, and i would hope to live test them in Angling Times, but am not at all convinced that many match anglers will invest in that amount of money in a multi-functional rod. Perhaps its the way forward, we’ll see.

TF_drawbag1967To them it does not matter whether they are better or worse than the old model because as soon as Steve is pictured using one in a future copy of Match Fishing they know they are going to sell bucket loads, and that’s not a dig at Steve or Alex it’s just how the advertising machine works.
Mind you Steve still not convinced on that grounbait mix for Porth, lol.
AS=G5 surely.
