Is anyone out there in a position to compare the Trilogy against the Sensas 774. I’m in the market for a new pole and was wondering how these two hold up against each other.

        Thanks

I’ve had both and personally i thought the 774 was the better pole.

If you can, go to fosters as they have the 774 and trilogy in their pole alley. They also have the 74xl, which I thought was a better stiffer pole than the 774. There’s also the 874 coming out any time now, which is the upgraded 2012 version of the 774.

              Thanks for the replys.

What about Garbo Super G10…how does that compare to the Sensas and the Tricast.

I would get the Trilogy none of others will be as strong or hard wearing, balance is exceptional too.

Garbo G10 is stiffer, more responsive, better balanced and has a better finish than both but is slightly heavier.

Someone is selling a Colmic x5000 over on mfs or talk angling, excellent pole, Imo better than all those listed

I can only comment about the tri cast its a very strong well balanced pole it may not be the stiffest of poles but it is one of the lightest and there after sales service is spot on.

I had a faulty section on my pole and the tri cast rep picked it up from my house and even dropped the new section off when the faulty one had been tested and i was in the clear of not breaking it myself ! i suppose it does help when the rep only lives about 6 miles from me,but even so they didnt have to do that they could have had me sending the pole back to fosters and make me go through them,so after sales is important as well,if anything the spares are a little expensive but dont let that put you off an 8/10 for me for the trilogy.

is the 874 built on the same mandrel as the 774?

if you mostly fish commys mate get the trilogy , may be not the stiffest or lightest flagship pole but the balance is exellent, finish is brilliant and the strenght is second to none.

Another vote for the Trilogy its the only flagship pole to tick ALL the boxes including reliability.

Thanks everyone. Think I’m being swayed towards the Trilogy.

What about the Middy XK55….someone has mentioned this pole but I don’t know a lot about it.

hi tip mon, if its for carp of any size then go for a trilogy. i tried them all in shops ie wallstrength and once youve squeezed a trilogy then all other poles feel soft. my last 3 poles before the trilogy were tournie x, G995 and then tourney pro all very good poles but balance and fishability at longer lengths then the tricast blows them away .im not goin to tell you its the stiffest most responsive pole out there cos its not BUT its fishable at long lengths and thats wot counts. theres slightly more tip bounce than a tourney but then the top 5 is a hell of a lot more substantial. its an odd pole because all the sections feel so substantial that individually they feel heavy but put them all together and the balance is great. its very noticably lighter and better balanced than a tournie pro at 16-ish meters .it also gives you a feeling of security when a big fish is hooked . that ” this aint gonna go” feelin and thats important to me. i’m not knocking the sensas in anyway or any other manufacturers poles theyre all good, but i think with some more than others youve got to expect section breaks. with a tricast i’ll surprise you IF it happens.

Tipmon, before you buy a new pole have a look at the Shimano Fireblood , i think you will be pleasantly surprised. I actually got rid of my Airity to get one. I fish it at 17.5mts regular and i can say that in my opinion its as good if not better than all my other poles I’ve had. Its very stiff, very strong and very responsive at all lengths.

Id hang on for a while as there’s a few new poles out in the spring and the Trilogy and 774 are getting on a bit. One of brownings sponsored guys let me have a quick wiggle of his Z12 last week. Was unbeliveably stiff and straight, almost unreal. Thought I was holding 14 but actualy has 16m up. Couldn’t spend much time as it was pi***** down but was enough to convice me. But ive got a Z9 at the moment and love it so a 12 is the obvious choice fo me.
