I’ve recently taken an interest in these reels can anyone who users them tell me what they’re like?

Also which sizes best match our 2508/3012’s??

I use daiwa tierras what can I say great reel I use the 3012 for feeder work and can’t fault it, I use the reel and it’s stored on a rod in a ready rod bag, very rarely cleaned, used and abused and works everytime, so well I just forget how good this reel is, comes out at any carp match and have used it for 3 years of the four years that I have qualified at Gold valley for the garbo comp, the good thing about this reel is that it was actually designed for salt water use so it’s impervious to anything, great reel.

I’ve seen these for sale($80ish?) in the good old USA and thought they were yank versions of the TDR,

Good reels, I’ve had a pair for a few years now, I recently bought a TDX thinking it would be the next step up but i couldn’t sell it quick enough, the Tierras clutch is infinitely better than the TDX!!

Cracking reels, the 4000 is equivelent to a 3012, but i cant reccomend them. The problem is that if something goes wrong with, them, however unlikely, you will have to return them to the retailer in the US, this will incur extra cost and time. Your best bet is to go for a TDR 3012, you can pick them up on the forums and on ebay for around 90-100 squid and at least you will have peace of mind.

With taxes and postage from a America you may aswell buy a british model like TDR or Caldia which imo has more power.

I must admit unless I was going to the states I would buy the TDR when I purchased mine I got stung with import duty even though it was marked up as a gift and with all the charges incurred I could have bought a TDR. but the tierra is a good reel

I have a tierra 3000 mint reel ideal for all feeder work bought from usa with the taxes it came to a total of 80 pounds tdr are 120 pounds so i think i got a good bargin

Get yourself on the yank eBay, I only paid £50 inc postage for mine although it took a few weeks to win them at that price!!!
