TF_leshookHas anyone got one of these cars which they use for fishing, how easy is it to get a largish rod bag in, does the front passenger seat fold forward like the Ford Fusion?.
I usually travel alone and am looking to trade down from an Audi A4 estate
Things in it’s favour are Cheap Road Tax and up to 60 MPG in a diesel -

TF_One Out of the FrameI had one before they were on general sale as a demonstrator when I worked for Citroen in retail sales.
I was really impressed with it as it maximised usable space inside the car while being generally small in footprint and easy to park As a car for fishing I don’t think are any others as good. Perhaps not a Page 3 model to look at but cheap to run and has a very good driving position and if you have passengers, they will benefit from the ‘theatre’ seating arrangement.
If it is a Motability car or you are eligible to lease, it makes a superb vehicle choice and one that I would recommend you look at. Similarly, the Fusion is a great car for fishing and, like the C3 Picasso, has a flat load boot but with the fold forward front seat and under seat squab storage very useful (If only the back seats cushion were 60%/40% it would be in my humble opinion one of the best small car fishing choices available.
The only thing that I would say if it is a private purchase is that you should be mindful of the numbers sold: When you come around to selling it, ideally, you want a product that a lot of people are chasing. Unfortunately, C3 Picasso, Fusion and Meriva all sell in relatively small numbers, as do estates but, ‘horses for courses!’

TF_One Out of the FrameI worked for a Vauxhall dealer after leaving Citroen but, despite having a choice of Vauxhall cars, kept the C3 Picasso while I saw out my contract.
I’m currently leasing a C4 Exclusive 1.6HDi 5dr and cannot fault it. 50.3 mpg and I don’t really do the most economical driving cycle. 70 on a run!

TF_One Out of the Frameleshook: Did you have a test drive of the C3 Picasso?
Although I work for a car leasing company we also supply cars for outright purchase at significant discounts and Citroen UK is one of our suppliers.
If it is the car for you, at least give me a ‘kick of the ball’ and see how much money you can save by buying through http://www.hypercarleasing.co.uk

TF_tedcYou know the only people to reply are c3 picasso owners who fish .
i,ve done 11,000 miles in mine and it really is a tardis,i get near on 60 to the gallon and pay £30 road tax and a very comfortable car that can take 2 lots of gear with the rods down the middle.. i went from a gas guzzling l200 to this and halved my fuel bills overnight.
with diesel at £1.45 a litre you gotta know the future is in these 60 to 70 miles to the gallon motors. and i used to own V8s !!!! all i miss is the rumble !!the 1.6l hdi engine pulls superbly as well…great car and i ain,t selling them !!!
