I would just hair rig them as normal, same as any other bait.

Thanks tidal for taking the trouble to post a most informative reply, maybe its just me being a little naive but are there not numerous ways of hair rigging a bait,

you can hair rig baits various ways.on a normal hair rig, with either a hair stop,or quickstop on the hair.or use a pellet band to either band over,or pull through baits like meat, corn, drilled pellets etc.use a bait spike for boilies.or use a lasso knot for banding various sized pellets.

I would use a quickstop and the length of hair depends on what size bait you’re using, for example 1 or even two 8mm pellets blown up. I would have the bait just off the back off the hook, about 5mm off the hook as this distance is usually about right. Having any bait tight against the back of the hook usually leads to missed bites and bad hook holds I’ve found.

Tried preparing a few as per steves instructions and i cannot honestly see how they would stay on a hair however they were put on .

Try Cornish bagging pellets from White Acres, once soaked they are spot on for hair rigging.
One thing to consider is venue. If the fish are daft you can be as crude as you like, but once they wise up a bit you need to refine your rigs, little things like knots, diameters, hook size etc all add up and add to your confidence.
Steve Ringer, tought him everything he knows, ha ha.

try adding corn steep liqcuor or sardine oil first. stops pellets mushing up

You need the right pellet to make them blow up properly. Green swim stim 8mm’s used to be superb for it but they dont seem the same anymore. Dynamite xl 8mm’s are good, at least the batch i have are. As for how to hair rig them, i just pull a hair loop through and put a bait stop on. Nice and simple.

Thanks Steve will try a few different pellets.
