TF_C_S_H……for the most impressive piece of marketing in angling history. The Xitan Z12 website really is something else. They have changed the way top end poles are brought to market and left many of their competitors severely lacking in this department. Very slick, very professional, exactly what you might expect to tempt a £2500.00 – £3000.00 purchase.
Pre-bushed SLK idea and anglers choice of top kits is not before time and something all manufacturers should offer.
1m but section protectors is a good idea.
An all round excellent package.
But marketing aside, will this pole really be any better than my “hairy G.” You’ll need to watch the video clips on the website for that, it’s not a reference to my misses in any way. Have Browning pushed the boundaries of Carbon/Resin technology any further than Daiwa, Maver, Preston? Personally I think not.And whilst on the subject of marketing/advertising – if I see another Roy Marlow Marukyu advertisement thinly disguised as an article on fish behaviour or Jamie Mason pushing this miracle bait as the key to his success when we all know it’s purely down to ability. I will remove the pages from the magazine and put to a much better use… to wipe the s**t from my a*se.

TF_One Out of the FrameCraig: That is one of the best things I have read in a long time.
I think that a magazine should snap you up to write the reviews 😮
You hit the nail on the head with regards to baits to but it pervades into every aspect of fishing tackle too.

BROWNING is back with a bang [/quote]Which is the way most of their poles ended up from my experience and then see how readily the spares are available !

ive never broken a BROWNING pole yet and i fish every week im using the cc995 for canals and the carboxy for ponds from my experience most poles are broken by anglers not looking after them then theres that old chesnut the wind of coarse
I had a CC-44 and CC-66 for over 10 years and only ever broke a couple of sectins due to typical Irish Windy Weather. Sections were paper thin too!

AnonymousSome of us slag them off because of the horrendous experience we have had when trying to replace sections for Browning poles that have broken for whatever reason.

TF_paulDTalking about hype, I went to the Big Con show on saturday. Was mostly discount outfits selling crap cheap tackle so its like paying to go into a shop. Bought a pork roll and a cup of tea and had to pay by card as it was so dear. Tackle wise I liked the Maver reactorlite rods and bags but not there poles. There stand was the best looking too.
Had a good go of the z12 and I think its at least as good as they say. But ive already got a z9 and love it so don’t need to be convinced to buy one, and ive always got spares and extra bits with no problems at all :p
Even my mate who sleeps with his Airity had to admit it’s the best pole now 😮 Im going to give my 9 one more summer of touture before upgrading to a z12. My mates going to have one too. The blokes on the browning poles were also good and not like the “star” on another stand who was more interested in talking to his mates than showing us the poles. we walked away in the end. Why do they sponsor blokes like that ?Ive dabbled in a bit of mykaru and think its cracking stuff but stopped cos it just to dear, especially if you have to mix a bag just incase you need it. I take it home and freeze it as its to dear to chuck away. But even Dynamite is getting dear now. Suppose we have to get used to higher prices now but what with petrol its gettling to be a bloody expensive hobby.

TF_piperpilotPersonally I thought that the Z12 was an absolute stunner and is now top of my shopping list. Didn’t get to try one of the poles I was seriously looking at but never mind it’s their loss not mine. Marukyu were doing 8 bags of pellets and a mixing bowl for £20 which was a good deal. Very hard finding genuine bargains at the show but I stocked up on pole floats and pellets/groundbait but TBH with the cost of going to the show it would have more than likely been cheaper to buy online or direct from a tackle shop. Overall it was worth going just to see some of the latest gear and meet up with some friends and adversaries,

TF_Big FinnParticipantI was supposed To be working with the Browning lads but had to have an operation which will keep me out of action for a good few weeks, gutted really as it would of been my first “Big One”
The guys said the show went well and had lots of interest in the Z12 and the other poles people hadn’t really seen. Hopefully the Z12 will continue to bring the discussion points and hype it already has done so far.
As for the service we offer, Ive said it millions of times now and will continue to, we/Browning have gone through a lot of changes and the issues people where having a few years ago have now all gone and hopefully any issues are ironed out quickly with a positive result. Take today for instance, I had a customer call who needed a 4,5,6 for an old Browning pole which was over 13 years old and we had them in stock…..customer well happy, not many manufactures keep spare sections in stock that long do they?
